True. But a cat wouldn't have been playing in the water with a shark in the first place. Plus it would never have been caught.

People often mistake the giddy subservience of dogs for intelligence.

Cats can swim just fine. They avoid water because getting wet neutralizes the effect of the anti-bacterial component in their saliva which renders their fur odorless to their prey.

They sell cat-repellants in many big hardware stores. I don't know if any of them work.

Hey, I have had some pretty good luck with a cat repellant from the pet store. My golden seems to keep all the d@mn cats far away from my house. Besides being useless, I'm not sure why anyone would want to have a cat, other than being a doorstop?

And for the record. A dog can be intelligent as well as serving man. I'm not sure why you're confusing the two. It's intelligence allows it to learn what the lead dog (his master) wants him to do. The dog wants to show his affection for his master, and in so doing, is satisfied.

Hey. This is my opinion. You may not have the same view.

Let the dog vs. cat wars begin.

Why does buttered bread always land butter-side down? And why do cats always land on their feet? What would happen if you buttered the back of a cat and dropped it out of a window?

On one web page we learned that this query is the basis for a grand prize-winning solution to the elusive puzzle of perpetual motion.

"When a cat is dropped, it always lands on its feet, and when toast is dropped it always lands buttered side down. It was proposed to strap giant slabs of hot buttered toast to the back of a hundred tethered cats; the two opposing forces will cause the cats to hover, spinning inches above the ground. Using the giant buttered toast/cat array, a high-speed monorail could easily link New York with Chicago."

I say just drop the damn buttered cat out the window and see!

Meow. Woof!

We had a Cornish Rex runt cat for seven years. It was raised around two dogs during that time; although very affectionate, she was about as smart as a box of rocks. She had to go when we found out our little one was alergic to her.

I am a dog person, myself.
I inherited 3 cats from my ex, she forgot to take the damn things when she left. My dog doesn't know what to think. My ex stopped letting us play catch the kitty, both types. She moved out. Let the games begin.

At least cats have the decency to bury their own poop, and the class not to eat that belonging to others.

Has a CAT ever been recognized for it's service to any of the public services such as the DEA, Sheriff's and Police Depts.?

A dog shows its affection and appreciation by bringing you your slippers.

A cat brings a dead mouse...

There you guys go again. I never said dogs weren't trainable.

Dogs, by their subservient nature, appeal more to the D/s crowd. Cats are indepenent. Dogs like anybody who feeds them, plays with them, touches them, speaks to them, looks at them, breathes, or moves. Cats are a little more selective. This is widely known amongst the dogonistas as being "snotty and stuck-up."

People who delight in making animals perform demeaning and trivial tasks such as fetching slippers generally don't like cats, simply because cats want to know why first.

Rex suddenly sprang awake, his acute senses alert to danger. He quicky ran to the baby's room, where he grabbed the sleeping infant by its sleeper jammies and dragged it kicking and crying outside to safety.

Brave Rex ran back into the house where he quickly rounded up the twins and herded them outside, as well.

Running back inside one last time, he awoke mother and father, who shakily followed him outside.

Now, if there had been a real emergency, Rex would have been a hero. Unfortunately it was just the neighbor's cat, so they beat him with a stick.

Look, we all know it. Let's quit beating about the bush. Cat lovers are almost exclusively blatant or latent homosexuals, crossdressers and pedophiles who spend most of their money on crack and gay porn.
