82829 Fugazi COTY compare to Aging Room

I don't love it, but it's got no signature Raymond Pages flavor wet hay and solvents. Tastes like a generic mass market cigar, so I spose it actually does compare well to Aging Room.

This sampler has been the worst cigars I've had all year.

82830 Fugazi COTY compare to Padron 1964.

I smoked an 8th inch of this cigar. It takes the cake for the worst cigar I've smoked this year. Tasted like wet socks worn for two days straight and dipped in solvent.

This entire sampler has been awful. The sampler I bought last fall was actually decent. These all taste super green at best. Downright rotten at worst. Apologies to anyone I've recommended these to, they're definitely not the same as my first go around with them

82832 Fugazi COTY compare to EPC la historia.

This is actually a good cigar. No way it's from the fugazi knockoff blender. This is an EPC overrun rebanded. There's depth to the flavors, mineral/earth mostly. There's texture to the smoke, the ash isn't blooming and flaking, it's required nothing of me to stay lit.

82833: AF Curly Head Deluxe Maduro Lonsdale (Panatela?) with thanks to Jake

Excellent after dinner cigar IMO. Started out with a taste of cedar and oak, toast and earth, somewhat savory. About midway the Connie BL kicked in and it had hints of Dr. Pepper and 7Up. Lots of thick smoke and a low key sweetness throughout. Perfect draw for my preference. Thanks, Jake, for the excellent smoke. This one came out of a box of 40 cigars you sent to me, a feat of generousity I have yet to match.

I thought that was the best of the sampler as well. I also kinda liked the AF Anejo. The other 4 were no good, 2 I have yet to.smoke.

Not bad is about all this one earns. Dry, one note, not much going on.

I knew I didn't care for em 10 years ago, but it came in a sampler with some good stuff for cheap.

Not good. Tar-like moisture build up on head and the ash was blooming. Obviously the RH was too high so that’s my hit.

82841 - 2023 Tat PCA. Definitely a highlight of 2024 for me
This is not only a first 2023 for me but also a first PCA of any year. Absolutely loved it. Are they all great sticks? I got this one in a Tat blind buy from luxury place and have been sitting on it for a couple of months. This morning I bought a box without even trying it, so glad I did. I would love to try some of the older ones. Guess I’ll post something in the trades section.

82842 -- Ashton Classic 898...at 6.5 x 44, it's a short lancero, perfect size for me...first half was great, then the bitterness started until the last 2 - 3 inches when the harshness and tarry residue popped up...first dud among all the Ashton Classics I've smoked over the years...hope this is an anomaly and not the standard for the rest of the box...

That's what I think of as a lonsdale. A little fatter and longer than a corona. Kind of a corona with a chubby.

What’s the deal w/that tarry residue? Is it because the tobacco just won’t adjust to storage RH? Some tobacco just sucks and slips by the QA?

82845: RP Vintage 1979 with thanks to Jake
Fairly yellow cello. The barnyard smelled more like feed lot. Had a raised seam in last third. Punched it and lit it with delicious cream of peppered cedar flavor. Thought this was going to be a winner but it became very bitter at the end of first third. I couldn’t smoke it because the moisture at the shoulder was burning my lips. Had to reluctantly discard. Still, I’m grateful for the smoke, Jake!

82849 Megilla Gordo. Not Bad for a yard gar while mowing. Bad for Amy other time.

82850 Fugazi Opus from the sampler. Same green rushed chit flavor as the others in the sampler.

82851 Warped Maestro del Tiempo. Smoked from bulk storage that's been sitting way too high to be smoking from, so it wasn't great. I need to learn to stop doing that and just smoke from the desktop.

Got a box of fake davidoffs for 20 bucks in the DR two years ago and they were some of my favorite sticks. I only have one left, and I can’t bring myself to smoke it.

82866 Luciano Mas Igneus

Started off bland, generic burning tobacco. 10-15 minutes in a nice spice blend that gave up after 10 minutes and fought off a big tunnel with some torch work and purging I got it going again for another 10 minutes of spice with a little sweet nuts on the finish before it fell back into bland generic burning tobacco again.

Could see a void in the filler from the time the burn went awry all the way to when I put it down. I'll try another before passing judgement but for now not bad.

82868 Plasencia white label original.

Assorted spices, some cedar and ginger? Weird. I've bought a handful of Plasencia cigars but haven't gotten around to trying them. This one's decent but I don't see it becoming a regular in my humidor.

82869: Sancho Panza Glorioso (BP Toro) (6.1"x50)

A Connecticut from Sancho P. I normally associate them with their tasty and affordable Maddies. This one was beautiful and well constructed. Burned a little crooked and needed touch up 2x in the middle but beyond pet peeve it presented no problem. The flavor at kickoff was a mix of marshmallow, strong milk tea, nutty. The marshmallow faded in first inch. About mid way the light molasses and mineral taste of CBL entered the mix creating a new well balanced flavor. The CBL never over powered. The thick smoke was creamy and palette coating throughout the smoke. As far as complexity goes, not a lot. What I got was classic Connie with that CBL flavor balanced in at the middle. If you’re looking for an affordable Connie with a bit of body you might give this one a try.

I officially understand the hype. While I didn’t pick up on notes of “buttery shortbread”, it was a tasty medium stick.

First time trying these..not a fan. Tastes like a RP cigar. The Black Swan was made in a collaboration with RP as there is also an RP Black Swan that probably tastes like an Oliva.
