It maxes out around 600 with room for bead jars. But a practical sizing with random spacing, and not too much fussing, is probably 400. Here is the design break down:
Drawers: 2 rows of 20 x 3 high x 3 drawers = 360 cigars.
Shelves: 4 boxes of 20 x 3 shelves = 240 cigars (this assumes the boxes do not fit well. One brand I like will fit 8 boxes on a shelf).
Today it has 3 boxes and about 180 loose cigars. So it’s comfy and well stocked (at least for me). I also keep my travel humi and cigar cases in there, so they are pre-humidified.
The top shelve is for browsing through the glass; reserved for 5 packs, one offs, yet to be tried, and a few special ones.
A wireless Oregon Scientific hygrometer updates the readout by the kitchen table, so I can eye it during our evening cocktails.
