Ron,
I do not wish for either the Dems or Reps to fall apart, I simply don't care- from a day-to-day or lifetime perspective. Neither of them represents me well on the current issues I consider important. Both have let me down in multiple ways. Neither comes close. That is why I am an Independant.
It is just a historical fact that no single party will rule or last forever; or even a long time (in historical terms) without having to make significant changes in itself. And I see absolutely noting wrong with that either. People and the issues both continually change over time. Evolution of political parties must occur to- in order for teach to survive.
The parties are really just a reflection of the voters. Who can say we won't have more than two major parties? The more complex and numerous the relevant issues there are, the greater the number of parties that will will exist. There is nothing undemocratic or unconstitutional about that at all. Hell, there was atime in this country where neither the Dems nor Reps existed.
And there will come a time again where one or both are replaced and/or where an additional party or parties will exist.
(BTW, I truly do apprecitae your thoughtful response to my comment. Others here can only reply by insulting people with different perspectives or opinions.)
