No need for 5 days in the refrigerator. You can go right from freezer to humidor with 30 minutes on the counter in between. What do you think happens at the factories and distributors who blast freeze the cigars? Do you think they keep them in a refrigerator for a week after freezing?
You're not thawing a steak, it's a cigar. It only has 12%-14% water content by weight, whereas a piece of meat, or just about anything else typically found in the freezer, is 65% or more water by weight.
Hell, you can even smoke them right out of the freezer.
