But yes, there are cigars that, while tasting and smoking good fresh, are even better with longer (…as in years…) humidor nap / resting time. Then again, after 20+ years of smoking freshies, your palate may be so ingrained that you won’t enjoy the smoother, less spicy, rested ‘gars.
So out of curiosity, how many cigars do you smoke a day / week / month?
I guess I can do 2-3 per week, weather permitting. sometimes its less (here in NY its frigid so I spent the whole day dreaming about a good smoke, but not able to do so).
I certainly dont have a refined palate. Honestly, a lot of these things taste the same to me. I LIKE that taste, but going from Cohibas to Camachos isnt a big stretch. Cohiba to Man o War Virtue or Kuba is obviously more of a leap. I get that, and I can definitely taste the difference, for sure.
Here is where I currently stand...I have a desk humidor and a tupperdor that I just completed with cedar trays, cigar oasis hygrometer and Bovedas. Desk humi has the same setup. The wood humi has some Kubas and Acids, that I dont really care for, but keep them around. The tupperdor has about 20 or so Cohibas, Camachos, a few Macunudos, and Rockys. Not much.
So, while I dont smoke daily, I do want to smoke good stuff when I do. I cant say money is NO object, but I can pretty much buy what I want, within reason. I dont buy boxes though, I usually do 5 and 10 packs. That works for me, though I have split a box of whatevers with friends over the years.
Funny, my friends think Im smoking the "good stuff"! I dont think Im smoking junk, but thinking maybe its time to smoke better and really get into it...I love just having the cigars. Like coins or comic books...just having them makes me smile.
This is probably way too much info for you all, Lol.
