This is an absolutely dynamite cigar. Limited-edition, numbered boxes destined to be collectors items. This project has been in the works for quite some time. CAO Black was founder Cano A. Ozgener's very first cigar. As the family turned their attention to furthering the phenomenal success of their other lines, including the CAO LAnniversaire, Gold, and Brazilia, the CAO Black was taken out of the market, lying in wait for the right opportunity to be re-introduced on a grand scale. So when it came time to produce their crown jewel, it was only natural that it would be under the CAO Black label. Needless to say, this has been carefully plotted and planned by Cano Ozgener, along with son Tim and daughter Aylin, down to every last painstaking detail. The blend was crafted with extensively aged, top-tier tobaccos, made in heartbreakingly limited quantities, and packaged in hand-painted, hand-numbered boxes. The production run was just 6,000 boxes for the entire US market. Needless to say, given CAO's reputation as a maker of superior cigars, they pulled out all the stops on this one. Individually draped in cedar, this classic offers a ton of creamy spice flavors with a subtle hint of vanilla and a cornucopia of complex and varied flavors at the medium-full end of the spectrum. It booms out big, creamy smoke rings, burns perfectly, and mellows nicely after the first 1/3, maintaining a smooth, woody flavor with an incredibly clean finish, leaving only a slight, lingering and pleasing peppery taste on the palate.
