Great vintage years are as rare for fine cigars as they are for fine wines. Only once or twice every 10 years, a perfect balance of sunshine and rainfall causes Macanudo's exclusive Connecticut shade seeds to yield limited quantities of extraordinary wrapper leaves that exceed the standards for other Macanudo cigars. A vintage year comes along only when a harvest yields small quantities of filler, binder and wrapper leaves whose qualities are superior. After these leaves have been cured and aged, only a few bales are deemed worthy of the Vintage Cabinet Selection designation. The long, fine filler leaves are grown in the Caribbean. The dark, supple binder leaves are grown on the fertile San Andres Valley farms of Mexico. And the silken wrapper leaves are grown in the famous Connecticut Valley, where Macanudo is the only cigar brand to grow, cure and age its own Connecticut Shade wrapper leaves. The same standards of taste, aroma, texture, color and resilience are maintained from cigar to cigar and from vintage year to vintage year. A collector's item.
