Padilla: A Five-Time ‘Top 25 Cigar of the Year’ Brand.
Since its start in 2003, the Padilla brand has been highly celebrated. Born in Havana, Cuba, Ernesto Padilla has a handful of highly awarded, 90+ rated boutique blends under his belt. His father, Herberto Padilla, was born in the most famous tobacco growing region in Cuba. He was imprisoned in 1968 after publishing a collection of poetry that spoke out against Castro and was placed under house arrest from 1972 to 1980. An event that would ultimately lead to one of the finest boutique cigars around – Padilla Series 1968. Today’s special auction lands you a box of 20 Double Toros starting at just $2.50 apiece.
After moving to the US, Ernesto worked his way up in the industry and created the Padilla brand as a tribute to his father. In fact, the 93-rated Series 1968 was made in commemoration of the year his father was jailed. Hailing from one of the top factories in Honduras, Padilla 1968 features Nicaraguan Criollo and Corojo long-fillers tucked beneath a flavorful, Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper. This medium to full-bodied blend offers up a vast sea of flavor including notes of citrus, spice, earth, coffee, and cream.
Double Toro Boxes of the highly praised Padilla Series 1968 are up for grabs at a starting bid of just $49.99. That's a whopping 71% off.
