La Aurora

The first cigars manufactured in the Dominican Republic, La Aurora cigars have over 100 years in the industry and three generations of growing tobacco in the same fields of the Ciba Valley. Starting out humbly in 1903 at just 18 years of age, Eduardo Leo Jimenes inherited land to begin his factory and had only six workers at the time. Today La Aurora cigars are handmade in the same factory which is the oldest in the Dominican Republic, and has become a top-shelf brand with more than 1,000 employees. 

La Aurora means rise like the dawn, and the brand has certainly done so with the subtle and smooth Dominican blends like the medium to full-bodied La Aurora 107 to celebrate the 107th anniversary, the full-bodied full-flavored La Aurora Untamed, and Fernando Leon Family Reserve which received a 93 rating for its complex and balanced flavors of raisin, hearty leather, spice, cocoa, and mineral notes.
