Please everyone send me 9 dollars. Thank you very much. Seriously ..will you miss 9 dollars? No....just send it to me.

Would you accept a payment plan?
I sit on the couch all day long eating snickerdoodles while collecting disability. I could send you $1 a month starting with next month's check. (but by the third month I am going to totally disappear and never pay what I have pledged to you in full)

(In other words I am going to "portercolin" you"

Ok, so judging by the conversations in this thread, I am in fact a mooch. My first post is proof of that. Iv done just about everything a person can do wronge, and I'm sure I'll continue to make many more mistakes. Iv been called out on it, sent a PM from a vet from my ISO but I'm all fairness, iv payed back SD72 for what he sent me and have plans to pay nnightmar back soon. Iv gifted several other vets as RAOK and have gotten several more.

Put me on your list and say what you want, but either way I'm here to stay. I'm not a hit and run.
I may not even be one of the people your talking about but I'm sure I am.

CB, that question has vexed me for years. Think
All I can think of, is that it's a social ice breaker and also introduces new cigars to folks that don't want to break a twenty buying a fiver or spend that same twenty on one. Besides, there's always a selfless soul living in a van by a river willing to splurge in order to impress.

i have seen pictures of "bombs", were talking top shelf cigars with bottles of single malt scotch, soup mix, bacon, t-shirts etc. all to a stranger the sender does not know. then noodies are calling folks there "vet". as if this were a smoking community of friends and family.
if you are a participant of these activities then why the hell is mooching a strange concept?

I'd be lying if I said you didn't come to mind. I didn't see your first post, but it doesn't matter. I can imagine you mean well, and I know that several people have had great trades or received RA'sOK from you. I also know that one day you'll be an important part of the "brotherhood" of this forum. If I may offer an observation, the part of your online persona that bothers people is the excruciating combination of the groveling pride in reverse disguised as humility in this post, the posts that come across to some as "passive-aggressive" or mooching, and the "_ is low! Bomb him!" posts.

In prior years, it was possible to develop an improbable friendship online with an individual, pick up some favorites of that person, and quietly send a gift their way without fanfare. That has become increasingly difficult with the onslaught of calls to bomb that individual. You are effectively taking some of the joy of giving from other people by trying to orchestrate mass bombings, however irrational that may seem. It stands to reason that the new kid on the block might get a little harassment as a result even though he's not technically done anything wrong. When you roll over like a rescue dog every time you get your ****** slapped, it doesn't help, but compounds people's resentment.

I'm sure this is going to be I'll received, but I mean no Ill will. I'm only trying to help you decode some of the ire you seem to constantly be on the receiving end of. I think you're gonna be fine once you calm down a little and stop trying to be everyone's friend. You can change everyone's opinion by shipping cigars to them. It seems like you have a good group of friends already. Joker is a good dude and he seems to like you. Just allow people to form an opinion. Don't try to manipulate that opinion.

If you're truly here to stay, just settle in for awhile. I think you'll make a great "vet" to a newcomer one day by saving him from the pitfalls and dustups that you've found yourself in. Take what you find useful in this post. If you take it as an attack, just ignore it. I don't know you and couldn't possibly muster enough emotion for an Internet flame war.

So........what I'm getting from this thread is:

Don't say "please"
Don't say "thank you"
Don't post pictures
Don't comment on pictures
Don't trade
Don't mention sticks you like
If you've wanted to try something, for goodness' sake don't admit it
Don't trade
Don't bomb
Don't accept bombs
Don't discuss bombs
Don't post ISOs
Don't stir the pot
Don't look at the pot
It's fine to discuss the pot, just keep it on the misc and politics forum
Just make your purchases, keep all your stuff to yourself, accept nothing from anyone and keep your mouth shut.

Wow... what a great place. Kiss my dimpled white butt - Imma goin' rogue. I'll be stirring the pot over on trades...

I hear what you're saying, but I'm not sure those things were really the purpose of this thread. Some people just get a bit fed-up with the blatant selfishness sometimes. Bombing and the like is great. And I see nothing wrong with ISOs, even "passive" ones like "those sound good, would like to try them at some point." That's just honesty.

But some have abused it. I've had people PM me asking for free cigars that I posted about. Now I love to trade, and I love to bomb people with things that they are wanting to try. But when someone I don't know says send me free stuff, it rubs me the wrong way. That's more than just mooching, it's rude.

Are you trying to passive-aggressively mooch from Jamie by calling him "friend" and hoping that he'd feel obligated to send a token of said friendship? I should remind you that not only is that frowned upon, but Jamie really isn't supposed to send you anything anyway......although, if he DID, no one would ever know because you're also not supposed to post about it.
