If one were in need of good, short smokes for a 30 minute morning work commute (+/- 5 or 10 minutes), how would one go about mooching such cigars? For example, parti shorts work well, but supply is really, really low. I'm not saying they have to be parti shorts. I'm just using them as an example. Anyone out there fit this description? I'm not saying it's me....I'm just sayin. Blushing

I can't decide whether this means you should borrow FGM's depends so you don't have to change your shorts for the parti, or if you're all hoity-toity and fancy-schmancy and have *special* shorts for partis. I also wonder if you've already gotten a head start on the parti to be spelling it like that, but who am I to question someone who has special undies for partis? (whatever the reason for that may be...)

Then again - are parti shorts kind of like big boy pants?

Ah hell, really ain't much to squeal on. Everyone already knows I'm a mooch. I have never denied it. Let me prove it to ya. Send me a bunch of cigars and see if I don't smoke the damn things. Do I need to make a list of chit I would like to mooch, or do ya think you can handle it on your own?

Hmmm - I am kinda new to cigarbid and, until I read this, didn't know that people would send free stuff (apparently in the hopes of securing some stuff in exchange or to encouraging a newbie - both laudable goals). I must confess that I am, however, not very keen on sending stuff to people I don't know and also am somewhat reluctant to accept things from those same people. I am not a Scrooge - in fact just yesterday I gave a guy that came to see me at my office some cigars just because I have a bunch in my current stock and he was pretty low and on a budget. In this day and age it just seems foolish to send and receive things from people you don't know. Is this an attitude I need to work on changing?

Bro, you will fit right in! Keep your smokes, trade them, smoke them, gift them, throw them away..... It's all in your own choice.
I thought it was kinda weird to trade cigars with people I didn't know, but it becomes addictive! The opportunity to try new cigars, meet these guys and send them some they want to try as well. When you can't find or buy what you want and someone has them, the Scrooge attitude might want to be adjusted. Keep an open mind but I will tell you that I have not had one single trade where I did not get great quality cigars, in great condition from a great BOTL!

Sending/receiving cigars from strangers is no big deal, actually it can be very interesting. You don't seem to mind helping someone out when they need it, I'm sure that person was grateful for the smokes. Now if he came back and presumed you would give him more, well that is one of the things this thread was about.
RANT ON;
FWIW, I wouldn't ask for cigars to say...give to your buddies so they will like you, when in reality you were more than likely just stocking your own humidor, that's been done. Or start PMing others on leads for a certain cigar and that person gives you some direction, then a couple days later start asking about the same cigar until some generous but oblivious soul offers some up. Then act like your soooo surprised and grateful and just can't believe your luck, yeah it's been done to. This is a good place with many generous people and who they send their cigars to is their business, I just don't like people being taken advantage of.

Ok - after reading all the mooch-related posts - and at the risk of falling into that category, does anyone know if cigarbid ever carries the Alec Bradley Vice Press or the Casa Blanca Jeroboam (preferably the maduro)?

I recently had occasion to try the Vice Press and thought it was great.

The Casa Blanca is my favorite golf cigar. If properly humidified it can last an entire round (assuming there isn't too much wind).

Finally - there seems to be way tooooo many choices of where to post stuff - at least too many for me to take the time to decipher. So I will probably just put my posts here. Sorry in advance to any self-appointed posting police.
