Been down a Mink DeVille rabbit hole lately. Criminally underrated band from 70's New York. House band at CBGB's. Lumped in with punk and they actually couldn't have been further away from that.

Album....Mink DeVille - Coup De Grace

song......"End Of The Line"

I suggest you follow that rabbit hole. There's some amazing $hit down there. Make sure you take the detour into Willy DeVille's solo stuff

It's like you crossed doo-wop girl groups with Bruce Springsteen and Lou Reed and threw in some Tito Puente for some spice

I'm learning that. I'm a late comer to all things DeVille. I'm just shocked at how f*cking good the band and Willy was

yeah, had some good mixes of players with him.
I even loved an album as a trio live in Berlin (or a name like that)
Loup Garou (sp?) and stuff from that time even had some cajun style stuff.

But the dude died like a decade ago.

2009. Obviously I had heard of the band and the guy but never really pursued listening to any of it. I heard the song I posted a couple of days ago on Sirius and was immediately hooked enough to wade in. Wow...just wow. A unique talent. Judging by all the people he's played with, was considered a "musician's musician."

Been a Willy fan since the first Mink DeVille album but probably haven’t listened to the MD stuff since the mid ‘80s. Will need to revisit soon. Thanks for the reminder.

New York is an amazing album. Great from beginning to end. I'd have to go with "Straw Man" as my fave song on the album but it doesn't really matter. All great

One of my "To Do" projects is to combine "R 'n R Animal" with "Lou Reed Live" and put the whole show together in correct order. 'Course that stupid thing where the guitarists are reversed on each album doesn't make any sense.

Japan - Tin Drum

The album I remember the most and thinking back to the early’80s, can see why we enjoyed these guys more than the pop trash at the time.

First, not Sarah McLachlan Anxious

Dropkick Murphys - "The Season's Upon Us"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTx-sdR6Yzk

And completely different... (Grit Warning)

Dropkick Murphys "I Wish You Were Here"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hpWA61ZicE

Did I fail you some way, that you're not telling now?
Did I fail you some way, somewhere, somehow?
When you took that last step

Beyond the door
I can't follow you there
I can't follow for sure

It's a road that you take
All on your own
One you don't come back from
And, there's no place like home

I wish you were here
How I wish you were here
I'm out on my own
I'm so far from home
And I wish you were here

Are you watching me now?
All alone in this place
Are you seeing me cry?
Oh, how I miss your face

And the warmth of your smile
The light in your eyes
There was no fare thee well
And there was no goodbye

And, I wish you were here
How I wish you were here
I'm out on my own
I'm so far from home
And, I wish you were here

When, I'm looking back
On the time that we shared
Oh, we know you were loved
And, that I always cared
I always cared

I know in my heart
That we'll meet again
I know deep inside
This isn't the end

And, I wish you were here
How, I wish you were here
I'm out on my own
And, I wish you were here

Oh, I wish you were here
How, I wish you were here
I'm out on my own
I'm so far from home
And, I wish you were here

I will have to look for this, I saw a copy of one but not the one you mentioned. Did they make a re-issue of this show? I see some around from maybe 2016 or 2020 but single LP not 2.

Cheers
