Family is in Atlantic City for a few days for birthday's so I've been able to crank the tunes.

Started early last night with The Band 's first 3 albums. Moved on to The Black Crowes., Somehow, wound up listening to a few Zepplin albums. Switched to some Al Green. Then landed on the Kinks. Totally sober the whole time. I'd like science to explain that rabbit hole!

We all miss him. Like DMV said, this post remains active in his honor and memory. As long as I am here, this post will never die. Unlike the short, loudmouth, North Mexican SOB that started it.

In fact, I'm working and listening to the Outlaws. Green Grass and High Tides.

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve listened to SOAD. That I remember buying the dual albums at the CD shop when they came out. Are there even cd shops anymore?

Other than used, not really. Places like Best Buy and Wally World will have a token rack or two, but haven't seen much beyond that

Been listening to U2 from Boy to Joshua Tree. They lost me with Rattle and Hum and everything after. Some INXS, Duran Duran and Billy Idol mixed in.

Thanks. I'll check 'em out. Rattle and Hum and every pretentious interview Bono was giving at the time really turned me off. I still remember listening to Boy over and over in my friends basement when I was 10. I miss vinyl... but, I don't need another obsessive rabbit hole to go down and start collecting.

CB - that'd be either classic rewind (ch. 25) or the 80's on 8. Hair Nation (ch. 39) is my go-to for the gym.

Ten seconds to love - Motley Crue
Alone again - Dokken
Way cool Jr - Ratt
I don't believe in love - Queensryche
Hang Tough - Tesla

Etc...

^That was for the post prior to SOB's.

U2 has their own channel... not sure what it is because, meh... it's U2. Not really a fan.

The thing about vinyl besides the artwork and the sound is that when you bought a new album you'd pop it on and listen all the way through. These day's it's so easy to just setup a track list of singles/hit's that it seems like most people never really get to appreciate deeper cuts. That's my perception anyway... I could just be being a grumpy old man talking about how things were better back in my day. Damned kids... Get off my lawn! fog

STRAWBS - Deep Cuts

SIMPLE VISIONS

Simple vision come to me
I was blind but now I see
Simple visions of my soul
Cut in pieces now I'm whole...
Let us make deep cuts and
mix our blood
Sacrifice the mockingbird above
Soaring on the wings of paradise
Simple vision of a perfect love.
