The Rolling Stones - Blue & Lonesome

Again...for like the 20th time since I got it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...I have NO NEED FOR SOLO ERIC CLAPTON! That said...in the confines of a group...gimmie that! Yardbirds, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Derek & The Dominoes, Blind Faith, Cream...I can go back to the well for that...and do...this track...is in that vein. "I Can't Quit You Babe"...most notably done and outdone by Yardbirds protege Jimmy Page with Led Zeppelin...but this is a raw, blues...filled with mistakes...and you will hear them. Yet it's good to hear Mick belt it out. Hard to believe he's over 70!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmitbQpRV9s

The Rolling Stones have created a new album where they started. They ALWAYS were a Rock/Blues band and I'm so damned glad they went back to their "safe spot". As a fan for decades...they've made me very happy!

^^^ Yeah, some of Eric's solo work has been lame but he's still my favorite guitar player. ^^^

Last night while herfing out in the garage with a couple of hs classmates (...not sure if this is the actual order, things got a little fuzzy after awhile...):

Beatles - Abbey Road
Eric Clapton - Me and Mr. Johnson
Garland Jeffreys - Escape Artist
Idris Muhammad - Power of Soul

May have listened to something else but can't really remember. Gonz

David Crosby - If I Could Only Remember My Name

One of my pocket favorites. Whenever I can't figure out what to listen to, I reach into my pocket of under-the-radar albums and pull out something I can just kick back with.
