I dunno. Have to digest this. Ryan isn't someone I like or trust......... He's one of the very few Republicans that could make me not vote for Romney. I'm sort of surprised by this.

Still won't vote for Obama but likely will not vote for Romney either. Not sure yet.

Wow. He picked Ryan?! Formidable choice especially when he goes up against his blank slate of a VP counterpart in the debates.
The boy's a smart policy wonk and fearless.

Don't think this will help McLame II pick up very many soccer mom votes though. The black, hispanic, union, etc. are lost regardless.
Wonder why Romney was tougher on his Republican counterparts than he is on Obama? Is he afraid of the race card?Scared

Give the boy his due for Pete's sake. At least, he studied both sides of the argument before he ignored the facts and went brown.Gonz

Interesting how much emphasis people put on the VP, when they really don't do anything except be a back-up in case the President dies.

Your Honor, the witness just perjured himself!

From back in my political days, you are the absolute most favorite voter to both parties. You will vote party-line no matter what. We can say whatever we want, do whatever we want, promise you nothing but remind you the other side will screw you more, and we have your absolute guaranteed vote even though you have no chance of getting anywhere near the Cone of Protection!

The ones that suck are the true independents and there aren't actually many of those regardless of what voter registration says.

When government is the largest employment sector the people have definitely put too much power in the hands of government.

Now THAT's impressive! Very nice. My brother even had a pic taken with the Gipper.

Me? All I got was a couple of invites and stock WH photos from Dimwit II. I used them to wipe my ass.... oh, and I sent one to Rick for his parrot's cage.

Wait, I vaguely remember getting something or other from Dimwit's daddy too for putting my neck out & organizing a group defending Dan Potatoe Quayle.d'oh!

I was just reminiscing with a friend this weekend that we won 56 states but lost Minnesota so Mondale avoided the sweep. There's still a little outrage there over missing that no-hitter!

We can always just raise taxes on the rich to pay for it instead. The rich of course will be anyone that makes more than 25K a year.

I got to tour Dan Quayle's Air Force Two B-707 when it came to RDU back in the early 90's. This was right after Bush, Sr. had taken delivery of the B-747 fleet.
It was also the airplane that James Baker used extensively for his shuttle diplomacy before the start of the Gulf War. Cool Aircraft.

Oh, and I once rode an elevator with Obama in the Senate Hart building. This was during the period that the media was peeing on themselves wondering if he would accept Oprah's nomination for the presidency.

Very cool about the jet, Jet, but I wouldn't talk about being in the elevator w/Obama much unless you passed gas.

McLame was actually buoyed by the Alaskan chatterbox. Let's face it, the singing maverick didn't really want to be elected. The old boy just loves his theatrics (name in limelights). Nothing much to see there.

Romney, on the other hand, may have something more to offer. Not much perhaps, but certainly more of a business working model resume than a sweet- talkin' Chicago pimp street organizer.

I know....really! I've been telling people to get under the Obama Cone of Protection while they still can!

Let's face it.....although people will think he's gonna make it rain, they're just going to be disappointed again meanwhile under the Cone it is raining with champagne!

Wheel I even stayed up late for you!

Agree with TW don't see this pick doing much for the swing votes this was an establishment pick. Mittens made a safe play.
