There's plenty of the "cerebral" flowing in you but sometimes I wish you would just shut the same old flow and try a new/fresh spigot.Gonz

On the lighter side of it all, at least we are cutting military spending. So, some good will come of this.

All spending needs drastic cuts.

Our military has far outgrown their purpose as has the federal govt as a whole.

It is a Apple iOS 6 word created by the iPad spellchecker. It's meaning is similar to 'term'.

Of all the monies spent on the militaries the world over, like 45% comes from the US. The next biggest spender, China, only spends about 20% of what we do. If we cut out budget in half we would still be spending well more than twice what any other country does.

Say, why do we spend so much on the millitary?

very simple...
Weapons, munitions and other armaments are all we maunufacture here anymore.

and we do have do have to protect the shipping lanes for the oil we buy from terrorist countries that hate us.

So we buy oil from them so they have the money to recruit Muslim wackos to crash planes into New York.

Then we send our troops there.

got it now ?

Most countries have a military to defend themselves. Some countries have a military to conquer their neighboring countries and run occupation missions. The USA has a military to be a GLOBAL FORCE FOR GOOD! That isn't cheap.

Sounds like another Jedi mind trick . . . . .

Multinational corporations will continue to chip away at the gov't until there's nothing left. I give our gov't 15-20 years tops before it collapses in on itself and corporations officially take the spotlight. By then, the transition will have been so gradual that most people won't even notice.

But at least we won't have a need for politicans so thats a relief...fog

Then Obama proclaimed him a Small business.
Now he's a full fledged Corporation??

When's sequestration going to hit Maryland???
I'm in the process of starting up a health service and they've just added another layer of bureaucracy that QUADRUPLICATES the work done for accreditation. In other words, they've set-up bureaucrats to check on bureaucrats who check on bureaucrats which will check on other bureaucrats who actually do the needlessly complicated work which justifies their uneccessary existence.

Oh wait, that's why we have the upcoming 6 cents per gallon tax!Laugh Applause

Almost a week in and....

Sun is still there...

No planes have fallen from the sky...

No locust swarms (here anyway...)

No brimstone...

Riots? Haven't seen any yet...

Cats and dogs...still not getting along.

Haven't seen any seniors fighting over the bait can of dog food I left in front of the senior's home....

Just saying...

The real action wont begin until the first week of April. Then you will see some cuts. I don't predict doom and gloom either. I expect to get my furlough letter on Monday. 11 days of time off. One per pay period, for the remainder of the fiscal year. That's 8 hours per 80 hours or 10%. Whatever, this government, this president are all morons. I'll do just like I did last time, vote against all incumbents.
