Never liked bulleit. I do like makers woodfard 4 roses wathens (recommend the wathens if you’ve not tried it) Did not like angels envy.

Also looking to try a rye whiskey. Again under 60$. Explain to me what rye whiskey is like????? More like bold bourbon? More like a crown royal? More like Irish whiskey??????

I like all those things but I like bourbon a lot more than those

Help me out fellas

If you want real value try Old Forrester Signature 100 proof and Wild Turkey 101........handles at $45 and 40 respectively,750's at $24 and 21. Both drink way above their paygrade, take that from a guy who's been drinking bourbon for a long time.Been sipping on some New Riff at$39 the Single Barrel at $49........both well worth the coin.

As for ryes Wild Turkey and Old Forrester strike again.............bought $20 each.If you like a more traditional rye Sazerac is your friend,$24 iirc.

Thanks fellas. I’ve wanted to try the old forester. I’ll see if I can find the 100. I’ve had wild Turkey 101 but I was like 18 and just drinking it because it was free. I don’t really remember what it even tasted like. I didn’t like bourbon at that time

I’ve got another few drinks in my bottle of 4 roses single. I’ll pick one of these mentioned up on my next trip.

For Rye I usually always have WhistlePig Piggyback 6yr and Mitchers Single Barrel on hand. Both can be had right around $50 here in overtaxed Jersey.

Old forester bottled in bond I’m no expert but I liked it well enough I’d recommend it. Couldn’t find the regular 100 but I will at some point

Fits of any of the old forester I’ve tried. I’ve been reading along to pick up recommendations

Since you've had and been recommended to Old Forester, you might put the 1910 on your list to try. It's priced around $53/L where I buy.

The flavor and character are miles ahead of the alcohol bite.

Saw the BiB at the exchange and didn't pull the trigger... now I wish I had.

I can get Russell's Reserve Single Barrel for $53 at the exchange and it is 100% worth every penny. Total Wine sells it for $72.

Please refrain from mentioning this expression again. Not talking

A few years ago, mebbe around 6-7, an adult beverage shpo I used to window shop at (…’cause their prices were almost always on the higher side…), had the RRSB on clearance for $35. I looked at it, picked up a bottle and almost, repeat, ALMOST, took it to the register. But for some unknown reason, put it back. Have no frickin’ idea why since I liked the regular Russell’s and the $35 was mebbe a couple dollars more than the regular one so shoulda been a no-brainer.

Apparently I left my brains in the car. d'oh!

A couple weeks later I went back and, of course, they had sold out. Have regretted that poor decision ever since. Brick wall

Mailing booze is a little tricky... you gotta tell them it's a glass coke bottle from many years ago. Fragile and liquid.

Jake, don't overlook Redemption Rye. Traditional Rye around $28 for 750ml. It's like a Padron xx, your never going to get wet panties over it but damn if it's not good and consistent. It's a great starting place to get into Rye, for sure (it was my first rye).

I stumbled into a couple of bottles of ETL in Pensacola on Sat.

Being the nice guy that I am, I left them for others to purchase.

They were only $300 a bottle.

Wait, does that mean that, without any hesitation, you grabbed the bottle and went straight to the cash register or turned around and walked out the door?

Asking for a friend, of course. Anxious
