The more I think about it, the more it's evident that this is just a power play by the liberals.

The confederate flag doesn't equal discrimination or racism or slavery.
It's friggin Bo and Luke Duke.
It's Lynyrd Skynyrd for crying out loud.

And any azzwipe who compares it to the swastika? You're a moron.

Sorta...They've got the Rainbow House and all 3 legislative branches. The Supreme Court has been in full-blown activist mode for years, in fact they make more important laws than congress does anymore. Or may ever again make, for that matter.

Our government is a flat tire, and its not going to fix itself. At some point, we the people are going to have to get out in the rain and change it, and its going to be messy.

I ordered a book the other day about the GA 7,000 Volunteers CSA Army. My Gr.Gr. Grandfather was in the GA 40th Regiment, Company A.

I had long known this, but didn't know anything about their movements. I learned tonight he fought at Cumberland Gap under Gens. Bragg & Forest.

I always thought he only was in camp when he succumbed to disease. Tonight I found out it was after they fought in Kentucky.

Do you really think that a "mainstream" group adopting a symbol speaks the the symbol, or the groups themselves?
Just because the germans have the good taste not to start waving the swastika flag around doesn't mean the confederate flag is "good".

And keep in mind the timing. There wasn't this resurgence of the confederate flag until the 50s/60s when black people started asking for rights and stuff... That's what, 100 years after the civil war? Maybe in 2040 when the jews start getting all uppity again there'll be a german group talking about how the nazi's were really just about german rights and stuff, and not about killing jews, so it's totally cool that they've got this swastika bumper sticker.

Both flags are symbols of d%cks who thought one group of people was not equal to the others. Both groups of d%cks got defeated. You don't need to parse this comparison any further, the difference is simply not that significant when you put it in comparison to the giant d#ck-baggery that the groups represent.

I'm curious, and truly do not know the answer to this. Is there anywhere else in the world that has had a civil war in which one section wanted to leave the country and the other section stopped them from doing so with in an incredibly viloent and bloody conflict and then the loser (those wanting to leave) were allowed to continue to fly their flag on government land? Maybe that is the case. I dunno.

Fly any flag you want on private property. No one is stopping you. At least no one with authority, Don't get upset at the reaction. Merica.

Well, Obummer said it needs to be in a museum, and everyone started parroting the same thing.

On a side note, the State Legislator from Stone Moumtain wants the three confederate flags removed from the State Park, saying it needs to be in a museum. The State replied, um, Stome Mountain *is* a museum.

I completely disagree.

When you see a swastika you ONLY think of the Nazi party.

If you see ONLY racial oppression when you see a confederate flag, then you've got issues too big to deal with here.

Slavery is a part of what it represents. I get that. But the same could be said for America as a whole.

These things come to a rolling boil because it's spoon fed through the media as a feel good action.

At best, it's a waste of time.
