Since about half of all pedophiles are female I guess the bathrooms were never safe for women and girls....

The rest of the world has to accept the views of .002% of the population. .?? No-one is denying them a public bathroom... just use the one you're suppose to let the rest of the world enjoy some normality... Mellow

Just my opinion by the way... I'm not pushing a bill through congress or anything. .. I do have rights also... I choose to think this is BS... Mellow

Are you phobic about transgender folks in the stall next to you? You shouldn't be.

Even when a born male is dressed in his female identity - "it" would be using a stall.

A lot more than .002% of the population feel that people should be able to use the restroom of their chosen gender identity free from penalty of law.

A law against;
Lewd activity is a rest room - fine.
Exposing your self in public - fine.
Sexual harassment - fine.

Jenner being jailed for using the ladies room - no, sorry.
I may not like him/her, but they still get to use the can...

Brewha, BS on 50% of pedophiles being female, 96% of sex offenders are male. Female pedophiles are uncommon, 12%. This was an article from ABC news using 1999 statistics. The other articles I read gave similar numbers. Also, don't put words in my mouth, I was never metioned sex crimes directly. I spoke about the feeling of saftey.

Drafter, I get tired of people using inaccurate numbers or generalizations to further their agenda. Yes more Americans than .02% think unisex bathrooms are acceptabe. But 26%, the number I found in the Huffington post is vastly a minority.

I try to state what I am saying is my opinion and do not try to state it is a fact. Perhaps I am going over the top on Brewha, but my perception of his factual inaccuracy has irritated me. If he comes back and shows me statistics that back him up then I am wrong.

Actually, division of bathrooms into a male and female bathroom is a reasonably recent addition to our society. One would say that's not "normal". But it happened before anyone here was born, so they just assume it's always been that way.

So, if feeling safe is the issue, are we to ban "scary" people from the restroom? Does a drunk biker wearing colors count as scary? How bout them mooslums - they's some scary. Some guy in robes with a head wrap in my bathroom???

Honestly - I am working to see your point, but I don't....

I'll tell you a story - Elen Degeneres (whom I have never cared for) said in an interview that she really didn't get any flack for being openly gay. But she got a lot of rude comments and hate mail for being androgynous. The fact that she wears sexually ambiguous close offend people and makes some "uncomfortable". But who should really care? I mean people get uncomfortable with gender role issues just like the do with religious issues.

Next thing we'll know, the will be a call from the right to bring back "white only" fountains....

LMAO, point taken.

BTW, thank you for showing where your info came from. Interesting that it contradicts what I found. Which is right, which is wrong? I don't know.

I follow your point, but I do disagree. But I certainly can agree to disagree.

There is no shortage of "facts" and "studies" in the net. While "femalesexoffenders.org" is most likely a well intentioned and scientific site (rolling eyes), maybe it is best to consult some other sources.

Fair enough.

But I ask you to consider; the trannys are and effed up bunch. These people struggle to get through what we take for granted and are embraced for. And I don't see them pushing any one to be one of them - they just want to get by.

You know it's funny. I would prefer you call them transgendered. I think tranny is a derogatory term. The only issue I have is I think anatomy defines which rest room to use, not brain function for lack of a better term. Though I totally believe brain function defines identity on many levels, go figure.

Actually separating the bathrooms at all is probably unnecessary and not normal in many part of the world. It's a learned behavior. We teach that nudity is bad, something to be ashamed of or something naughty. It's too bad this is an issue at all, tranny or not.

yeah...lets just get back to ****ting along the streets in a ditch the way they still do elsewhere around the globe, this isn't about nudity...it's about some mentally deficient folks wanting to force their way into someone elses bathrooms and locker rooms. I am mildly curious though, are the ladies in your immediate and extended family as
" open minded " about sharing their bathrooms with mental male misfits as you are?

TMCTLT - even if you believe these folks are mentally deficient, is it any cause to be derogatory? Would you make fun of someone with downs syndrome? Cerebral palsy?

You can disagree with a law and a way of life, but for God's sake, have a heart.

Oh please....perhaps your right, I admit I'm so Fing sick of ALL this BS dominating our news outlets that there's NO escaping it....it's on the radio...it's on TV!! and moreover I'm sick of this administration sticking it's nose in all these social issues that ARE NOT of federal concern when we have MUCH Larger concerns. Oh and where exactly where was I " derogatory " And for you to compare this to Downs syndrome / cerebral palsy.....d'oh! And what of it?

Even if the science that points to this being a natural thing, and unavoidable querk of nature, were wrong. What then? Let's pretend that some born male children don't have a chemical testosterone rejection - let's just say.

Do you believe they do not have the right to choose? Is this Liberty not to be protected under the law?

All I'm saying is that "liberty and the pursue of happiness for all" has the expense of us all having the character to allow it. This is not an Arab Nation - we as Americans are supposed to get to do any damn thing we please - Provided it does not cause an unfair burden on others.

Are they mentally deficient, or not? Is downs syndrome/cerebral palsy not a type of genetic deficiency/disorder?

Were you not calling homosexuals/transgenders mentally deficient folk? That's derogatory. If you can't see that, perhaps you are afraid of catching the gay... a possible sign of latent homosexuality.

And your reply IS HILARIOUS......you don't think it EXTREME that men who've NOT gone through any kind of " sex change " should simply be able to request to " change bathrooms.....and all women and young girls should be okay with it ( not to mention the husbands and fathers ) yeah....I'm extreme that's funny!!!!

If you'd get over your self righteous indignation for just a second, you'd see I agree with you. I've stated I believe they should use the bathroom appropriate to their gender.

Show me where I called you anything derogatory. I just said there is no reason for you to be derogatory toward them.

Carry on.

My original reply didn't address any of the strawmen you throw out. If you lean to read you'll see I don't think there should be laws allowing them to use any restrooms or preventing them. There is nothing necessary and it's not a big issue. It's a wedge issue for both sides and is silly.

All I was saying is we have taught nudity is naughty and much of the world hasn't learned about the naughtiness like we have. You went to the rest the world **** in the street. That's extreme.

I don't really care where Bruce Jenner **** or pees. I think we've also gone way to far when we are putting guys that pee behind a tree on sex offender lists. It's a learned thing to be so prudish and it really doesn't accomplish anything.

In general if a law isn't necessary I'm against it. We don't need new laws prohibiting or allowing anything.
