Snowed again last night, after it rained. Nice ice layer on the driveway. Salted it and scraped it.

Worked Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night... while getting progressively more sick. Slept Sunday morning until about noon, woke up feeling horrible. Wife made me some ginger and lemongrass tea. Slept in the recliner, off and on, the rest of the day then went to bed at 10pm with the wife.

Alternated between sweating and shivering all night... so I washed all the linen today. I think I'm finally getting better. Just in time to go back to work Wednesday night. d'oh!

Listen to this weather news from Green Bay, WI.

Today's high temperature was 33.

It was the mildest day since December 19.

19 days in a row where it didn't get above freezing.

Went multiple places today without my coat. It was beautiful outside.

It snowed, but it was still about 50 degrees warmer than it was last week.

Had a visit to the attorneys office today, this was as fun as watching paint dry. She is going to take my case so I am going to assume this is a good sign. (Something else to set myself up to have my bubble busted over down the road)

Wife fixed tilapia tonight which was fantastic along with some fresh cut fried taters (fried taters are not hard but there is something about the ones my wife makes that is just OMG. Better than my moms and that is saying A LOT) and a side salad. This hit the spot so a good way to end my day.

44 cloudy low of 38.... Heat Wave... Hell Yeah! Piss on this winter chit!

Morning all. Was lifting a case yesterday and pulled/strained a muscle over my hip. Hurts like heck. Is heat or cold the better way to go?

Been a fun week.

So... the dog's tumor is getting bigger, poor girl's teeth a all wonky because of it... but she's still eating eagerly so she gets to keep living.
But I did get to learn some interesting stuff... some of you may find this informative...
When we got her in december, she came with a prescription for something called Yunnan Baiyao, a chinese herb. the prescription was for 1 box, 16 capsules, 1 per day... no indication what it was supposed to do, and no refill.

When the yunnan baiyao ran out, we stopped giving it to her, because there was no indication to.

Well... last week, while going down the stairs with the dog walker, she fell and must have hit her tumor... lots of blood apparently came out her mouth (... lots is relative here).
Woman panicked and went home to watch her... the bleeding continued that night.
The next day I stayed home most of the day to watch her... the bleeding mostly stopped... then by evening it started up again. The amount of blood was probably equal to a human nose bleed... I don't consider it a lot, but for a 15lb dog, that's probably significant. She was swallowing a lot too... her poop went black from it.

Needless to say, that night we are in the emergency vet... the woman is bawling because she's afraid they will say it's time to put the girl down (the dog, not the woman)... she's brought food with her to feed the dog her last meal, etc etc...

The vet notices that the dog was previously taking this yunnan baiyao stuff... says it's a non fda approved medicine that may help reduce bleeding, and suggests we give her that. In fact, one of the other vets has a vial of the powder form they're willing to let us go home with.

Amazingly enough, after wrapping some of the powder in chicken skin, she eats it... the bleeding slows. We get some capsules, and it stops. Hasn't started up again.

I looked it up.... ingredients are protected by the chinese gov't.... no one is sure what the complete components are. Apparently this powder was used by the vietcong for emergency wound coagulation.... fascinating stuff. I'm curious how it works orally and topically... kind of waiting to get a cut to try it on myself.

Anyway... long story short... this stuff seems to have bought the dog at least another week so far....

Drafter wants to go cut up some homeless people....

I think he's a budding serial killer.

Probably should have the cops shoot him now

I would go with heat, Heat relaxes the muscles with the exception of the forehead, the muscles there tend to relax with cool to cold. Dont know why but I will take my psychology professors word at it. ThumpUp EDIT also have been told heat promotes blood flow to the area.

I believe most doctors would say to alternate between heat and cold. Always end with cold.
