So, you could say in one sense, we are really increasing values and may be in the sense, we are reducing debt.”

Topic: Foreign policy

The president speaks with confidence but descends into hyperbole. No single interceptor for ICBMs has demonstrated a 97-percent success rate, and there is no guarantee using two interceptors has a 100-percent success rate. Moreover, the military’s suggestion that it could achieve a 97-percent success rate with four interceptors appears based on faulty assumptions and overenthusiastic math. The odds of success under the most ideal conditions are no better than 50-50, and likely worse, as documented in detailed government assessments.

Trump's claim that his approval rate with blacks doubled is a blatant lie. 3% approval. Down from a 15% at inauguration and 6% in most recent gallup.

Maybe he just thought 3% was twice of 6%?

The "inner city" is not a geographic location, but rather a code word for areas within cities with a large population of low-income black and Latino people. That being said, several major cities have had Republican mayors in recent years. Rudy Giuliani, a Republican, was Mayor of New York City from 1994-2001. As Mayor he "ruled" both the "inner city" as well as the rest of New York.

Trump goes too far to say such action has never been done. In 2005, after the U.S. Treasury Department accused Macau-based Banco Delta Asia as being a willing pawn for North Korean money-laundering, the People's Bank of China ordered the closure of North Korean accounts in major Chinese banks. The effort was undone after the George W. Bush administration, seeking to reopen talks with Pyongyang, in 2007 facilitated the return of frozen North Korean funds held in BDA.

Trump often suggests the United States gave a $100-150 billion to Iran, but these were Iranian assets that had been frozen. The Treasury Department has estimated that once Iran fulfills other obligations, it would have about $55 billion left. (Much of the funds were tied up in illiquid projects in China.) For its part, the Central Bank of Iran said the number was actually $32 billion, not $55 billion. Iran has also complained that it cannot actually move the money back to Iran because foreign banks won’t touch it for fear of U.S. sanctions and their U.S. exposure. As for the $1.7 billion, this This was related to the settlement of a decades-old claim between the two countries. The United States owed Iran $400 million, dating to 1979, plus a negotiated amount of interest.

Trump heaped praise on Reagan’s Tax Reform Act of 1986, which simplified tax brackets and eliminated tax shelters; it also lowered the top individual tax rate to 28 percent but raised the capital gains rate to the same level, giving them parity. But this is a rather strange flip-flop because Trump always has been a fierce critic of the bill, blaming it repeatedly for the savings and loan crisis, a decline in real estate investing and the 1990-1991 recession. “This tax act was just an absolute catastrophe for the country, for the real estate industry, and I really hope that something can be done,” Trump told Congress in 1991. In a television interview with Joan Rivers, he said: “What caused the savings and loan crisis was the 1986 tax law change. It was a disaster. It took all of the incentives away from investors.”

West Virginia's GDP increased 3 percent in the first quarter of 2017. The recent bump is due in part to the increased price of metallurgic coal, which is used to make steel, and a price increase in natural gas exports. West Virginia produces roughly 5 percent of the natural gas in the U.S. and as the price of natural gas rises, the demand for coal increases, spurring growth in the state. Trump can't take credit for the change in prices, which fluctuate with market forces.

This is an odd statement. Trump uses the "Rocket Man" nickname for Kim Jong-Un. It's unclear whether Trump knows that there have been three North Korean leaders since Bill Clinton's presidency, all with the last name Kim. It's a misleading claim that the past three presidents have "all been outplayed by this gentleman." It's actually three men in the same Kim family: Kim Il-Sung, Kim Jong-Il and Kim Jong-Un. Clinton, Bush and Obama would dispute that they were "nice" to North Korean leaders.

In May 2017, the National Football League started loosening its restrictions on end-zone celebrations, including on dancing, unsportsmanlike conduct and excessive celebration. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell changed the rule so that celebrations would be allowed, though prolonged celebrations or ones directed at opponents would still be counted as offensive demonstrations, {NPR reported}.

Full story

According to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, only about 5,500 estates in 2017 — out of nearly 3 million estates — would have to pay any taxes. About half of estates subject to the tax would pay an average tax of about 9 percent. That’s because for a married couple, about $11 million is exempt from taxation. Only 80 — that’s right, 80 — taxable estates would be farms and small businesses.

“Many people have died. Many, many people. Many people are so horribly injured. I was at Walter Reed Hospital recently and I saw so many great young people and their missing legs and their missing arms and they've been so badly injured. And they were fighting for our country. They were fighting for our flag. They were fighting for our national anthem. And for people to disrespect that by kneeling during the playing of our national anthem I think is disgraceful.”
