I'll bring 3, so I'll have one spare. The other 2 I have for the ocean are 8 foot rods... more for surface irons.

Party has already started down south...

Got the tri-tip steaks marinating and some tater tots for dinner tomorrow night. Hope the owner filled the propane tank for the grill. Trying to decide between corn on the cob or a salad...any preference?

It's in my ginormous tacklebox... which I won't be bringing for this trip, as I don't need all the stuff in it. Got a smaller one that I'll be filling with the essentials for rock fish.

The 2nd Annual was a great success. It took 2 1/2 hours to get the fishing grounds. Once there we limited out if less than three hours. All of us pulled up at keast 2 doubles. Some of us doubled up 5 times. Everyone in our group caught enough to make sure the sea pups who couldn’t fish also took home a limit.

Seas were a bit higher. Mostly 4-6 feet. There were a few 8 footers as well. Five of the 25 onboard chummed which no doubt helped the fish count.

Everyone had a great time. Especially watching Victor fighting off sea lions as he was being pulled behind the boat.

The beach house was perfect. We burned through a box or two of some great cigars, ate some tasty fish tacos prepared by Chef Al and topped with Mrs. Opel’s homemade salsas. Noel made a sick cheesecake which was better than any I’ve ever eaten.

As soon as we pick a date, we’ll post up for the 3rd annual.

Big THANKS to Joel for setting up this trip.
