Friggin' net provider was down most of yesterday. All outgoing emails sat in the outbox for 12 hours. Almost impossible to get a response from their help desk and they finally admitted it was system-wide.

Smells like wife's head gasket(s) are going again on the Subaru...

Looks like I'm taking on another car payment in the next day or two.

Blink

When my wife's head gasket smells like it is going again, I stay the phug out of the bathroom.

My advice, keep the car, trade in the wife.

Yup. Little over a year since I had em replaced.

Thought I smelled coolant a little bit after we drove to Indy last weekend.

She started the car in the garage and then left, could smell the sweet acetone ish aroma of a small HG leak from the exhaust lingering in the garage.

Yep. That smell is unmistakable. Head gasket failure is about the easiest problem to diagnose....and NOT proportionally easy to remedy.
Wow. Never blew twice in less than 3 years.

Had a Subaru Forester...loved that car, but after 225,000 miles, it blew its head gasket...woulda cost about $3000, so I just traded it in for a new car...in retrospect, I spent $25,000 more, and prolly woulda been happier to get the Forester fixed...

my son's Impreza RS blew it's gasket at 125,000 mi...he paid to get it fixed and still has the car...

Everybody I've known who has had one has lost gaskets around 100k. And nobody I know who has replaced em has gotten more than a couple years on the replacements.

First engine I pulled was a Subaru. Buddy had a 97? 2.5RS and blew a gasket. We had the block and heads machined, reassembled, and blew again about 2 years later. Another friend with a 07 Legacy GT wagon is on his third pair. Coworker had an outback, dropped gaskets at 90k and again at 105.

If I can get trade in, they can have it. If they refuse, I'll pull the engine again. Looking at used Honda Accord around 14k. I spent 22k on this Subaru and 10 years later it's shot, and I spent about 8k in repairs/maintenance in the last 3 years.

Looks like I can get a Japanese import engine for about 1k.

If they won't take the trade or give less than 2k, I'll probably keep it as a beater and swap out the engine.

Same thing for me at work today. Sending stuff out, nothing coming back. As I was shutting down, 11 messages in your outbox.

Wtf? I SENT them. I didn't put them in an Outbox.

Wife's Honda CRV '05 had 225K on it when we traded it in. Other than regular maint and covered recall items not one issue.

Ditched Spectrum. Back with Frontier.

Internet a bit faster, channels for me are about the same... no phone. Wife is happy because Frontier's Filipino network has TFC and GMA for her. Spectrum only had TFC.

I've got the bare bones sh*t. If they piss me off they can eat a d*ck sandwich... no mayo.

Had one for my company car until the end of 2016. I was probably the last rep to have a company car, was grandfathered in when my old boss sold the company. In August of ‘16, had to have about $800 in repairs done and expensed it. The regional accounting supervisor questioned the expenditure and after finding out I was taking it home, said I was in violation of Corporate policy. ram27bat Had 4 months to find my own vehicle. They transferred the car to another department and they’re still using it. But except for the bouncy ride, loved it. Easy to maneuver and park.

I miss my Tundra. Not as maneuverable but could go through anything and survive... except being rear ended and the subsequent insurance claim eval. May she rest in peace

We've been getting nickel and dined by Spectrum. Time to kick them to the curb.... again. Only other real choice for where we live is ATT UVerse.

Yep... they were doing that to me, too. Booted them and got Frontier internet and TV. Sh*t for channels, and damn near what I was paying for Spectrum with internet, phone, and TV but Spectrum gave me HBO and Showtime.

I've already called Frontier CS and told them forget it. I'll figure something out. Likely just rejoin spectrum as a new customer since I already canceled and returned their crap.

AT&T cable service here sucks. Service is via dish. Every time it gets cloudy you could lose your tv signal and internet connection.

Comcast/Xfinity or ATT here. Given what I'm seeing it seems like all cable service sucks. It's no wonder some people ditch it altogether for the streaming options
