Overcast day here. Going to run out and hit a couple errands before any possible rain. Need some more apple as I promised to make another batch of apple crisp for a noontime meeting with some friends. Then babysit/hang out with a friend's autistic son while she does some shopping. I'll finish off a final project/homework for this term's classes sometime today.

Probably sign in for Vherf tonight while farting around reviewing next terms class syllabuses and make sure I have all the required books and stuff downloaded.

This term should be easy stuff and just busy work: Microeconomics and some low level math stuff both 200 level courses.

Already did this in high school and freshman college but the credits didn't transfer over. Some transfer credits expire if they are 10 yrs or older... so whatever, I'll go through the paces. I tried to dispute it but wasn't worth the time to gather all the paperwork and do the placement tests.

I can't blame the college. They have rules to follow and tuition money to collect. Since my job pays for it, it doesn't cost me anything out of pocket - just two months of silly assignments to turn in.

Possible date with a chick I met on tinder a few weeks ago, seems like might have a touch of crazy. So fingers crossed, on the other hand I may get murdered so..... if I end up going and you all don’t hear from me you know what happened.

Envious. My surgeon told me I would not be able to run again if I had the knee replacement. Should be able to get back on the bike and prolly play pickelball, etc but no running. I assume what you had was a partial and not a full knee replacement?

Ever once in awhile I throw in a 1/4-1/2 mile run in my morning walks but I pay for it for the next few days. A few nights ago I turned over in bed and it felt like the knee almost became disjointed.

Workout done. Banana, yogurt and 2 boiled eggs. Pollo Asado for the grill later... and likely some Woodford reserve, with an ice cube... and a cigar while I virtually herf with mah bruthas.

Made elote rice in the crock pot. Rice, corn, crema, ancho, seasonings mixed in some queso fresco and topped with cojita and cilantro. Made 4 containers for future eatings.

In the middle of making empanadas now. Simmering pork, corn, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, seasonings, and carrots in a dutch oven. Made the dough, and borrowed brother in law's air fryer to cook em. Usually pan fry in about an inch of oil, but figured I'd give this a shot. Gonna run to the store for puff pastry sheets as backup if my dough doesn't turn out right. It should, it's loaded with butter. But just in case.

I think you need to buy an updated set of Encyclopedia Britannica. You might be able to find a set in a used and rare book store.

Reset and re baited the coon traps.

Those things are smart in many ways, but trapping them is easy. You'd think if there's raccoon blood and poo and fur on the ground around a trap maybe they'd avoid that spot. Nope. I've not needed to move the traps yet, all on the same chain line between two trees out back.

Wife goes to bed at 2100 sharp every single night. Like clockwork.

But tonight at 2100 she says she wants me to go to the store and buy chit to make poutine. I'm a fat man, I aint turning down fries n gravy but wtf at 9pm?! Bitch better not be pregnant.

2205 and just about done making it. Leftover smoked pork, blended canned pork and beef gravy, cheese curds, and chopped green onion.

Ugh poutines

In North Central MA, where I live, we have a large population of French Canadians. A few generations live here and the surname of LaBlanc would take up 2/3 of the phone book. The biggest church in the area does a fall festival and people come from hours away (no exaggeration) to stand in line to buy their poutines, rapee , meat pies.

The poutines are not like those if you call up a recipe. The kind they make are essentially a softball sized of shredded potato with meat (pork and beef) stuffed into it then wrapped in cheese cloth and boiled. They sell them for about $5 per and are sold out by noon each day the festival is going on. They have a limit of 7 per person per day.

I did my best to try to like them but they are gross slimy things. Folks here think I'm crazy for not liking them.

Body count climbs to five, with today's greedy bandit having a paw in two separate traps. Got trapped and still decided to drag that broken arm with trap over to the next cup of peanuts and stick another paw down in there.

Shot it, went to get my knife to skin the tail, came back and found out it doesn't have a tail. Must've lost it a long time ago, there were no wounds. Just had a nub of maybe 2" thought about taking the hide, but it was pretty bloodied up.

Had Poutine at McDonalds in Canada once - didn't like it - but it was McD. Be willing to try the real thing.
