Talked with my Dr. today on results from a CAT scan. Want's me to do another one and see a specialist for a follow up in a couple months. F' n A. Kinda getting tired of all these tests that they want to run. I trust my primary care doctor implicitly, he's very up front and forth coming but part of me wonders if they are just padding insurance billing.

So far nobody in the house has caught anything from me, I am hiding in the bedroom all day. Starting to go a little crazy. So far I think the worst of this is over, no more fever or body aches. Just an annoying cough and runny nose. Wifey has been doing good keeping the kids away and bringing me food when I have been hungry. Just really bored.

That's not a bad idea. I would have to come up with a new name and that seems like a lot of thought and I don't know if I'm up for the task.

Not if you look at my play stock account this past month. F'n thing has been diving hard and it's mostly simple index funds.

On the bright side... looking like I'm coming back to WI at the end of July for a week. Gonna take the kids to see the EAA air show. Parlay it with shuttling my sister-in-law's 90 yr mother through the airport on her bi-annual visit. She may be old, half deaf, half blind but that old woman still has some spitfire left in her.

Prolly, who am I to question the experts?

Actually it was a chest CAT scan since I'm a smoker and he wanted a picture of my lungs. It's a reasonable request and good idea to get a look to see if anything is going on in there. Results had some shadows that he wants to get another look at in a couple months.

I'm thinking the shadows are most likely a result from breathing in COVID over the past couple years and not because I've been smoking for 30 yrs. Prolly should get a few more boosters between now and the next CAT scan. I'm sure that will fix it.

on the positive side, MACS, home ownership in SoCal is a good counter balance to stock market losses, especially when you've paid it off...

^Not quite there, but getting close. And these housing prices won't stay that way... and they're going up everywhere else, too. Price of wood... supply chain... etc...

Great time to sell and GTFO of here.

Yep. The CA real estate bubble is going to pop sooner rather than later. Haven't seen this many people leave a communist state since the Mariel Boat Lift.

Yeah, I'm lot looking to tap into anything or sell anything any time soon, I'm in for the long haul. I don't touch my 401(k) or IRA. They simple set and forget stuff. The market goes up and down and I don't really worry about short time trends.

I muck around a little bit with a play account. Actually, when things are heading to bottom out, it's a good time to buy stuff as long as you don't buy junk. I cashed out on some nice earnings late 2020, early 2021 when the market was on fire and squirreled it away in accounts for my kids.

I never could get use to flip flops. They are a walking hazard for me. Even completely sober I would stumble wearing them. I don't need additional loose fitting contraptions to help me stumble around, I can do just fine on my own.

I agree, I can only wear gym shoes (high heeled basketball style) and work boots. I prefer boots.

We call them “slippers” (…”slippahs” when you wanna talk “local”…) here. I think the last time I wore shoes was in September? Or maybe October. And of course always barefoot inside the house.

Me neither.. Don’t like that unnatural separation between the great and second toe.

That incessant snap/thud with every step, also annoying.

Another day in LA. 43/57 and sunny today.

I did see a Rufus hummingbird on our feeder on Mon. The first Rufus I have ever seen to my knowledge.
