50 headed to 67 today. Cooled down from the 90's we had last week.

Dog walk might require a light jacket! Still gonna wear shorts.

Rain overnight early morning. Sunny skies to come. Low 60's after the Sun breaks through. Nice day to ride the bike to the circus.

Got up to 50 here before the clouds rolled in. Greyhound got to walk naked. 40 minute walk through the neighborhood and park. Moved one tarp load of leaves from the back lawn to the curb. Sprayed sone Rustoleum paint around the welds in on the new firepit. Thinking about spray-painting the whole ting black.

Payed a couple bills. Got radios fired up in the garage.

Into the recliner now with the heating pad on the lower back.

It's 65 out there right now... I've vacuumed, folded the load of whites, washing a load of colors... time for a smoke and a drink.

Laundry done, folded, put away. Grilled some pollo asado for dinner... had myself a RyJ Cazadores and a whiskey sour.

Chillin' in da recliner with a nice pour of Barrel Bourbon new year (may that bottle rest in peace, it's gone).

You really should have them up there together. Imagine how peaceful it would be if neither of them talked because the other. You'd hear nothing but the wind, the babbling brooks and your inner monologue of chuckling.

It may be wise of you to separate the whites from the other colors.
I mix them all together, and it’s ruined the whites…

Beautiful spring day on tap with a high of 81F and a steady breeze without humidity!

Ribs still hurt like a bitch. More therapy today.

Son is still waiting to hear from two schools and for two new scholarship offers. Don't know whether he'll end up in St. Pete (Stetson), Tallahassee (FSU) or Miami (FIU or Miami). We are all a bit anxious, but in a good way...

Niece is still here. Threatened to kick her azz out last Friday for lying (like teenagers sometimes do). Hope she can just straighten herself out a bit more over the next four months and I think she'll be fine to go off to school in the fall.

What are you all up to these days?

Healthy sandwich and not so health chips, mix & match milk.

Woo Hoo!!!

My son was accepted to FIU law school in Miami (a state public school) today and was offered a $45k scholarship (75% off in-state tuition)!

That totally nullifies what the private school (Stetson) has offered ($90k tuition reduction- equivalent to only the full tuition cost of attending a public school). So, he approached the scholarship dean when he met her at an admitted students event Saturday and we are waiting to hear back from her with a revised offer.

And, that was just the first round of everything! We just need to hear from FSU in hopefully just a few more days and then he will have everything in hand to increase the bidding frenzy we have so hoped for.

We are eager to extract as much money as possible out of them, so we are thinking about possibly settling for full tuition and books, but of course we are asking for much more- just to see if we can get it. Now, he's in the driver's seat, so to speak.

Very Proud Father...

(To the two nay-sayers who criticized me for the cost of "over-educating" him with an MBA- HA!!! The $30k he spent to earn his MBA has already paid off by at least $45k- in addition to what he has earned over the last year

They should have a lot of experience. Many firms have job security beyond measure. Just defending drug dealers, illegals and Hurricane football players. Gold mine- not just the gold chains.

That would be better than the Tomahawk Chop, wouldn't it? LOL.

Anyhow, he went ahead and sent the "offer sheets" from the other schools to UM... just to stir the pot. Now, the scholarship folks there want to Zoom with him ASAP this week. His $500 seat deposit there is due by Friday. I think they are going to try to hard-close him on attending UM with a nice offer. Or, they could just simply walk away without even making an offer once they see the other schools' numbers...

This sure could get very interesting and very fun, very fast... If he didn't hate Tallahassee so much, FSU would be a no-brainer, but with so much money being offered, cost of attendance alone may control his final decision.

One of my pre-law interns was in a similar situation several years ago with the same schools. I think we need to call her to get the real scoop how she got it done....

Slightly bloodied and somewhat bowed I defeated the two palm trees 73 - 3. It's 50 headed to 82 and hoping the back and knee will allow a triumphant walk this morning.

Awesome news. Sister played Barry against Stetson. Held her line and was the only person in her class to graduate and do the diploma walk having already passed the bar. Nothing against Stetson...I mean not everyone gets into Harvard. They're not the only player in town.
