I don't think it's your collarbone you hafta worry about...

Thunderstorms last night. I was deeeeep asleep and woke up to a scaredy dog whining about the thunder. He may be faking, though. I put his blanket on the bed and allowed him to jump up... leans against my leg and goes to sleep. Think

Speaking of sleep... fitbit gave me an 88 sleep score. Lots of time in deep sleep and REM and only when Tank woke me was I awake. Applause

Furnace off again. Squirrel cage migrated on the shaft and was grinding against the housing at 3am. Got up and adjusted things but it woke me up at 5 doing the same thing again. Took it completely apart this morning. Squirrel cage mounting bolt to blower motor shaft flat spot has ground a rut through the circumference of the motor shaft in 2 places. Took the motor to the garage and welded the shaft back up, then ground it round. Now to see if that works. New furnace is a month out. I ordered a new motor just in case. but it's Friday so it won't be here till Mon-Tues.

Got everything back together and fired it up. Got the house from 59 to 62 before the squirrel cage migrated off the shaft again.

Took it back apart, re welded and then drilled a depression for the key screw to sit in. Put it back together again and it's been going for 5 minutes without falling off again but still vibrating like mad.

Furnace been running fine since then.

HVAC guy came a few minutes ago with a used whole blower fan/motor assembly and is making it fit. Hopefully will hold me over until he can get a new furnace in here.

I got my 12k steps and 60 minutes in da zone.

Took the pupper to a dog park and he went batcrap crazy running around. Sprinting, making cuts, jumping over other dogs. Been a while since I took him. He had some energy to expend.

Sleeping like he drank 4 bourbons.

Two drinks and two cigars last night.
Have a marathon run today.
-Pizza at a by the slice place.
-Cigars with friends in Appleton.
-Playoff football party at a friend's house.

He's doing brisket. Perfect day to whip up the horseradish dip recipe I found.

Three eggs, coffee.

United vs City.

Got an unexpected glaze of ice over night and a dusting of snow. Side streets are slick (black ice). Took the bike down to the ATM and there was a big hub bub near the library (about 6 cop cars, 2 ambulances, few fire trucks/SUVs... small town so any action they all like to run to it).

Looks like a SUV couldn't make the turn. It took out a transformer and a couple of trees. It was almost flipped over... listing at a 45° angle. If it wasn't for the trees and the transformer to stop it, it would have slid off the embankment and landed on a few cars in a parking lot about 12 feet below. Looks like they had to cut out the driver's side door to get someone out. Hopefully it's not serious.

Was rather odd. It's a small side road just off an intersection/rotary. SUV couldn't have been going more that 15-20 MPH.

Finally took the boy to the boat show. Boats are silly.

Got the quote from hvac guy. When he replaced the AC two years ago he said it would be cheaper to do a furnace at the same time, "just" another $3k. Well... I should've listened because now I'm in for $6800. Includes $800 for last nights after hours emergency service.

Looks like the kitchen remodel I was planning to do this spring is getting pushed back another year.

Well, okay, not so much pleasure or fun in this case. d'oh!

Good luck, Danm. We did the same with our A/C this past summer and got the same advice. Our fingers are crossed the furnace will hold.

Awake most of the night and a little sick this morning. We went to a brewpub last night with my niece and husband who are in town from Denver for the Rock & Roll Marathon today. Maybe a touch of food poisoning?

Feels like a layabout day.

Feel better Rick!

It used to be, “Good morning, dear. How’d you sleep? Pretty good, and you? Oh, fine”

Now it’s, “Good morning, dear. How’d you sleep? I scored an 84! And you? 86!”

d'oh!

Mid to low 30's. Pseudo lazy day today. Being an apartment dweller, I don't have a garage so gonna head over to a friend's machine shop/garage and teach my son how to change the oil in his car.

Wife and I took the pupper to a nature walk on the base. Right on the St John's river. Seen a sign that said... "Don't feed the alligators". Scared

Stopped by the commissary and grabbed some ingredients... making crock pot meatballs today. Wife wants pasta with 'em. I want to make a meatball sub. BigGrin

So, my phone's been acting squirrelly. It's been almost 9yrs and I guess it's time to move on. Check the Verizon site and the one I want is $700. Talk to the Verizon folks. I know they don't do free upgrades like they used to, but try to see if they offer some loyalty discount or something. Nope.

I ask if there's an issue with adding factory unlocked phones as long as it's a model they support. No problem. I order a brand new, open box unit on eBay for $320 including tax. I don't know how Verizon makes any sales at all
