You're way ahead today. Workin' it!
Only 8,500 and 86 Zoners.
Going to ease through 15 minutes of marching each hour for the next three or four. Should get me into the neighborhood of 6 to 7 miles.

Good Morning! It's wicked cold and windy here in Massachusetts but I have the day off and it's my birthday and my cb delivery is about to arrive with a bunch of boxes of fine cigars. I have a 10 pound beef tenderloin in the fridge waiting to be cooked for dinner with the family tomorrow. I have the house to myself, just me and the dog and all we need to do is keep the wood stove stocked and burning. It's a good day. Herfing

Happy Friday fellas.

Painfully cold when I left work this morning. Starter on the beater wouldn't engage the flywheel. Tried and tried but it just freewheeled in place. It does that when it's 20 or less, and it was zero this morning. Called a coworker who lives by me asked her to give me a ride home. When she rolled up I went back to the car for one more try - it worked because of course it would.

Can't take wife's car she's outta town with her friends for her birthday weekend.

Hope it works tonight/tomorrow. Did order a new starter this morning. Don't want to put any money in this car but I do still need it to work.

I had a truck like that years ago. When that happens give the starter a whack with a hammer and try again. The starter will engage the flywheel after the whack. I kept a hammer under the seat for that use for a couple years. If it happens again before you install the new starter give it a try. You might end up returning the starter.

That's what I was doing this morning.

Probably could pull the starter and lube the cam, but if it's out I'd rather just throw a new one in.

Back to work. Car started on the third try tonight, but it's 13F out, so a bit warmer. We'll see in the morning.

Up way too early. Couldn't sleep so just surfing the web.

AccuWeather says it -14° F outside here in north central MA with a blustery windchill of -45° F. I'll take their word for it, no reason to try to confirm it by going outside.

I have big plans for the day. My steps for any "work out" will consist of walking back and forth from the bedroom, to the kitchen, and to the couch a brief trip outside to toss out a bag of trash.

Prolly make something in the crock pot, do some laundry, take a nap, watch a movie, take a nap. Then if I'm bored, take a nap. With this master plan, there is no logical reason to change out of my jammies.

Might do my son's taxes, it'll be any easy 1040-EZ form since his reportable income is only from part time work for his co-op position with a single W-2. It'll prolly be a stressful and intense of 15 minutes of my day.

Just finished prepping a brisket that will go on in 45 minutes. I have been up since 0400 and the wife is not happy.

She won't be mad when it is time to eat.

Bucky... that sounds downright energetic to me this morning.

I don't even wanna get out of the recliner to poop right now, but I kinda have to. Plus the dog will need to do his poops and if I can't go in the house... he can't either. Not talking

My wife mentioned something about a killing this afternoon. There maybe an open seat at the table and she likes royal reds.

Happy Saturday ya buncha lazy bassturds.

I guess iffn it was -14 out I might stay in myself but I never want to live any place I can't go outside whenever I want.

Going to be 75 today so out for the usual 5 miler then on to the gym with a few breaks for a cigar and libations somewhere in there.

You do you.

Car gave me a little trouble this morning. Seems like if I let the starter freewheel for a couple times 10 seconds or so it gets enough heat in it to engage. Went in expecting it to start and after a couple minutes it did. No crawling under the car with a hammer this morning.

New starter says it'll be here Tuesday.

Got home to a 58 degree house. Furnace tripped the high limit switch. The blower unit that's in there is too small so when it needs flame for a long period of time like now when it's single digits outside, it trips the overtemp limit and shuts the burner off leaving the fan running. But the POS doesn't auto reset gotta manually do it. HVAC dude wanted to do the new furnace yesterday but I told him not when I'm trying to sleep. Gotta be on one of my days off. Hopefully next week. Maybe.

Hit -13 overnite and it's up to -6 now and the wind has decreased. Still a wind chill of -33 for the Salisbury Ski Jumps. Predicted to get up to 17 by midnite. Bit of a scare here yesterday afternoon when the power went out for about 2-1/2 hours. Forecast says we hit 32 around 10:30 AM tomorrow.

Turned off water at my hut, drained all pipes, turned one zone of heat from 55 up to 58....on Sunday or Monday I'll reverse the above...
No way I'm going through another house insurance claim from frozen pipes again..

Dog walked... 600 minutes in the heart rate zone this week. Not bad for an old guy.

Currently 55 with a high of 65, but it's a bit windy.
