Thank you for the well wish. My biggest obstacle is smoking something I think is great and wanting to immediately buy more. However, I have enough great cigars to sustain me until next year.
I can hold true.

Good luck! That's my biggest struggle with cigars as well. I try a new cigar I like, then buy a box, then if I see a deal on them I buy more.

No you aren’t the only one, because that is how you have to operate, unless all you smoke is aged cooobans and top shelf high end stuff.
If you find a cigar that is one of your new found favorites, buy some NOW, because in a year or so, that batch will most likey be gone.
Then you are HOPING they can maintain the flavor and quality year to year.
Very few can….

I bought a box of the Oliva V 135th Annis. But it's just an experiment to see if they're all as terrible as the one I smoked recently from a B&M.

Box came today. It's a nice presentation, but a big box for just 12 cigars. Ain't nobody got room for that.

But, I've made some changes to fortify my Jellyroll Resolution. It's going to work this time.

I bought a box last January and thought the same thing. I will say this though, after smoking a couple, the cigars were okay but, as mentioned in another thread, the "new" Vs aren't the same as the "old" Vs. fog

Oh well....

I've made a list of impressive old cigars that I revisited since the inception of the Ironclad Resolution, cigars hidden in storage boxes or humidor drawers I may never have smoked again if I continued to pile new stuff on top of them...

Oliva G, Cro Magnon Aquitaine Breuil, La Requieza, El Triunfador, La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero, Don Pepin Garcia Blue Original, Don Pepin Garcia Series JJ, My Father Le Bijou, La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor, Ave Maria, Ashton Classic...in addition to the cigars recommended by BOTLs here, I'll prolly buy a few of these oldies to see if the current production has maintained their predecessor's standards. Prolly just fivers - not boxes.

OTOH: other oldies but not so goodies were Perdomos (all of them didn't impress), DPG Black, Oliva O, Cabaiguan, La Casita Criolla, CAO Amazon Basin, Brazilia, Italia, MX2, Nicaragua, Pilon; Torano Signature and Tribute; Alec Bradley Tempus; Padilla Dominus, Padilla Signature 1932, Man o War, MOW Puro Authentico, AVO Nicaragua, Diamond Crown Maximus...prolly wont bother with these any longer after I finish of my remaining stash

I'm with you on all of your likes and dislikes except I wasn't impressed with the Ave Maria and haven't tried the Dimond Crown Maximus. Other than those I've tried everything on your list and agree.

and I bought a box of Tabernacle Robusto on sale from one of the monkey's emails today and a box of 858 MD. Reset

keep in mind that the Ave Maria was at least 8-9 years old, possibly older. It's been a awhile since I've bought any from that list. At one time, the DC Maximus was a fave, a strong and complex smoke. The last box of pyramids I bought, maybe in 2018, were not the same as a box I bought in 2014, for my daughter's wedding. Those were great.

glad you asked...those were notorious for burn issues 12-14 years ago, when I first got into cigars and tried them. They often canoed or tunneled, but were tasty when they burned correctly. Someone here said to let them sit in the humidor for awhile to dry out some, and they'd be better. I did and they were. But like you suggest, they didn't like to be put down. Ignoring them for more than a few minutes required a relight. Possibly rolled too tight, but they seemed to have a decent draw.

Not sure when I bought this last batch of them...maybe 8-9 years?, but they've lost a lot of flavor and seemed harsh for an aged cigar...the last couple will go into the "walking stick" box...cigars I puff on when out for a walk that can be tossed without regret.

Tenski place has a sale on Illusione and found something I wanted to get but because of the new restrictions, don’t ship to Hawaii anymore. Pillsbury Doughboy Resolution still intact! ThumpUp

Let me know if you ever need a "relay ship"from the mainland.

Also, I reached into my gallon zip lock bag full of collected match boxes and found this one from Maui... Not sure it's there anymore.

Thanks for the offer but I'mma guessing it was a sign from the cigar gods not to buy anything. However, iffin' there's something that I can't pass up, I'll definitely keep you in mind.

As far as Sir Wilfred's, I don't recall ever going there but unless they moved out of Lahaina, they mighta gotten destroyed by the fire. Gonz

Thanks Al but like I told Jeff, I'll hold off this time. I know I'mma passing up on a really good deal but I think the only way it works is if I had mebbe 3 boxes sent in a MFR to amortize the shipping cost per cigar. But who knows, someday I may take you up on your kind offer. Anxious

I failed my hiatus. There was a great deal on a 10 pack of Flor De Las Antillas belicosos at CP. One of my favorites. I couldn't withstand the temptation.
Whoever said I wouldn't make it to Thanksgiving was being generous.

exactly...I purposely assigned all cigar sites to my spam list and empty that file without looking in...that has helped my Ironclad Resolution tremendously...

However, I can't help looking here and have been tempted several times by CBidders posting deals on cigars I'd like to try...I'm making a list of them and in April, 2024 when my buying hiatus is over, I'll see if any can still be had for the deal price.

Well, I don't want to be your downfall but an offshore site has a 2X offer on #53 Cloud Hopper that beats the tenski price by about $200. Anxious

And last I noticed they ship to Hawaii.

Sticking with the post title...

Hello, my name is Bucky and I haven’t bought any cigars for about 250 days.

I'm down to one tuper tub and one small wineador. A nice balance of having too many and having just enough in case of a walking dead apocalypse.

Frank it! ram27bat

I hereby rescind my Pillsbury Doughboy Resolution. I just ain't got the willpower so time to stop fooling myself. Fo' sure I'mma no Delta1. Brick wall

Got an e-mail this morning from a vendor that was closing out their inventory of Rojas Bluebonnets. I've smoked some and liked them. The sale was buy 1, get the second at 80% off. Peeked in to see what vitolas that had. Put some Coronas and Robustos in my cart. With the discount code, my order came out to less than $100 for free shipping. Went back and ordered a few Torpedos. Made the free shipping.

Filled out the shipping info and to my great surprise, they didn't restrict shipping to Hawaii. Submitted my order.

SUCKER! d'oh!

hey...I'm just a rook compared to Tony (284 days) and Bucky (250 days)...I'm only at about 200...but except for a few withdrawal pangs, I'm enjoying the break in cigar purchases, taking dives into my storage containers and digging up old stuff I've forgotten about. My credit card is also enjoying the cooling off period...
