You didnt answer my question, so obviously you entered the raffle for the expressed purpose of weaseling out of your hiatus!
Even if you DON’T win, the intent was there.
Hiatus fail.
Go stand in the corner….

Day 45
Had a couple close calls on a few items here, but was outbid…………..thankfully
Price hikes at tenski has helped a lot as well.
But the other place is dangerous for me……… I need to stay away from there…

Feel so much better since renouncing my Pillsbury Doughboy Resolution. Another Hawaii exclusive popped up and my friend smoked one at the event and immediately bought a box. I trust his judgment as well as palate so ordered a box too. Will be picking it up tomorrow.

We should codify all the "other places" with numbers or nicknames and circulate the legend.

The “other” place…
I should have been more descriptive I suppose, so I will…

The other AUCTION place….
As far as I know, at this time, there are four cigar auction sites.
This place…
The two places that suq azz…
And the “other” place, which is how I’ve addressed them for years……..their mother site is kinda “well known”…if ya know what I mean.

Anyways, they have been increasing their lot quantities, upgrading their offerings, and, every now and then, without warning, or any notice, will put up 10-12 lots of something quite good, at a very good price.

I like that idea….
We can make it a “cigar acquisition manifesto“

Thanks, KOTC...fair warning to all my Cbid botls; you have 6 months to make your purchases. After that, the Ironclad Resolution will dissolve and I'll prolly go on an unrestrained buying spree...unless I can enroll in an intervention program before then...

King,

Please let the record reflect that, although Jjaneka (Spelling?) aka "Ms. Jan" found the Tenski Place for us, it was I, Bobby "Bee" Hively, that coined the term "Tenski Place". Thanks for your time my lord.

Ive bought some Oliva products the last couple weekends-- before that a Don Pepin stock up in August. Prior to that got some of those Black Swans. All 3 buys from Tenski place.

Haven't bought a lot haven't really smoked a lot. Think I'm going to try and smoke down some of my older stuff and go from there.

So as of right now, I've been clean for 2 days. Lol!

Two days eh?
Well that’s a start.
I managed to stay under $300 for a smorgasbord of CH stuff......Imperiosas, Le Caremes and some Mil Dias.

Hiatus starts Tuesday and I will try to make it to the end of the year.
Tenski with their new pricing has not tempted me lately. The only thing that could get me is a real good price on some French fries, but Alex is a cheap bassturd lately.

But the other place is killing me...

I saw you over there and just moved on.

Added some new lots to my watchlist; you were right, they have added more recently. Still not what was it back in 2021.

Wonder if they'll ever bring those My Father original boxes and 5 packs back up for auction?? Not the Lonsdale either. Lol The No1, No.2 etc

Other than places that don’t ship to Hawaii anymore, one thing that has helped slow down my buying is to place items into a site’s cart and then leaving the site. After a day or two, the FOMO passes and I’mma back to normal. Of course everyone’s mmv but seems to be working for me.

Hey, have you tried to order from the Tenski Place lately? A couple weeks ago I checked their shipping policies and there was a line about not shipping to Hawaii.

I was over there just looking around last night and checked their policies again and the only things about Hawaii were that they collect sales tax and that your shipping may take longer if you live in Alaska or Hawaii.

So maybe the Tenski Place found a way around it??

Nope, still can’t order. Not talking

Hawaii is not in the state pulldown menu so I’ll just hafta live with it until the State of Hawaii amends the law. But, the governor and legislators have much more important things on their minds - like dealing with Lahaina, Red Hill defueling, affordable housing, the homeless, etc., etc. But, like I’ve said earlier, I have plenny cigars and probably won’t hafta seriously worry about it for 5-10 years.

Been getting more and more e-mails mentioning or spotlighting Fuente Rare Pinks but they’re so ridiculously expen$ive or bundled with not-so-great cigars that it’s been easy to laugh at the offerings and move on. Also helps that I’ve overcome my FOMO and no longer on the prowl for them.

Wonder when Mr. AIA is gonna start wondering if he should try one…and where to get them?

They're having a singles sale at Tenski Place. Overall the prices suck big time, but they got some top tier Drew Estate No.9 and T52 at the cheapest prices I've seen in a while. Significantly cheaper Cheaper than the Tenski Places own prices for LP 5 packs.

I got a Tenski of T52 toro (10 singles) got my 10% off for buying 10 singles. Used $0.93 of my points to make them $12.50 each shipped --including tax. Kinda sucks, but go look at what the other places are charging for ten T52 toro size, if they even have them.

Was thinking... what is my record number of days without buying cigars?

August 26, 2021 to October 24, 2022. 423 days?

Went a few months longer than that without internet at the house. Let me tell ya, I've listened to my share of NPR & PBS on the radio. Smh

YOU!!……are such a bad influence, enabling, 😡

Like you just casually announce THAT^^……….in passing……….like saying…..”weather looks good today”…

I’ve been sooo good for a bit………..I have literally no room……….but OF COURSE I have room for some singles, at a good price and free shipping.
I’m not gonna look now…..(because I hafta pick up granddaughter from school)
And when I get back……….I’ll be hoping they are sold out!!

Chit!

Well, it wasn’t that hard to pass on those LPs actually.
My smorgasbord of CH stuff arrived today, so that helped the hiatus stay intact.
Not bidding on those french fries either.
December might be a different story though…..

Was that one of those double box sales? Seemed to be semi-popular with him for a little while…but haven’t seen one in about a year.

Email only sale
And, only a couple bucks off the normal fiver price…
But!
The email link actually had the WOAMs in stock.
When I searched tenski site in the normal fashion, using their Search function, it listed WOAMs as “Out of Stock”……………so at least with the email special, you were able to get some, at a better price.
But they are sold out now anyways….

Oh, and they are MUCH cheaper than at the Mothership in FLA.

It's interesting how this thread was started as a way to commiserate over our Order Disorder, and gain peer support in our collective struggle, but became a thread to share tips for cigar sales. It's like an AA meeting that became a meeting about which bar has the best happy hour.

Not that I'm complaining, just pointing out that although a few people have resolutions stiffer than marshmallows, the rest of us are a fail.

Hail to the Ironclad and Ironclad-like Resolutioneers! Applause

A lot of us are just bozos in this bus so while we might mean well, we fold at the first hint of a great deal.

Heck, I gave up just ‘cause I couldn’t even make it past 30 days and knew it was all a fugaze on my part. To underscore my point, I bought a few cigars on Saturday at a Fuente smoker and then got an e-mail this morning for Fuente 2023 Toast Across America and immediately ordered two. One for me, one for my nephew. WEAK! WEAK! WEAK! Brick wall

10-4, King. Thanks.

I unsubscribed from them and everybody else yrs ago.

I don't buy enough cigars to warrant cigar vendors spamming me every hr on the hr. Lol Drove me crazy.
