Since her pre-school is still on Spring Break, we took our youngest granddaughter (...almost 5 years old...) to the Honolulu Zoo this morning. She was REALLY happy to be going since she'd been there before but as a toddler so doesn't remember anything. Skies were overcast so it wasn't beatdown hot but certainly humid. About 45 minutes in, she said she was starting to feel tired. Ten minutes later she asked when we were going home. Asked what else she wanted to see and she said "Giraffes" so we walked around looking for them. Found 'um, she took a quick glance and then asked if I could carry her and go home. I know moments like this will almost never come around again so picked her up and said we were going back to the car. Later she said it was the best week of her life! Tomorrow we're gonna take her to the Waikiki Aquarium so I guess the best week ever got even bester! BigGrin

Just field-dressed thirty rabbits... Cut the plastic covers off two boxes of Peeps, one for the freezer and the other goes on top of the refrigerator to dry out. Beer

Doin' the humpty hump. Dog walked, went to total wine to grab some Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc pints. They had four 4-packs and I got 'em all. Saw Kronenbourg 1664 (no blanc) so I bought one of those pint 4-packs, too... figured I'd try it, since I really liked the Blanc.

Wife and I went to Ross in the St. John's Town Center and grabbed a nice painting for the bedroom, a few picture frames so we can hang some pictures, and a few other odds and ends. Much better selection at that one than the one close to the house, the wife said... more traffic at the one in the middle of town, I bet.

You just rolled a 20!

Kroenenburg was the 1st beer that got me into beers. LOVE the stuff. What I really loved became the Blanc. The regular is...lacking. IF you can find it...Fisher's Alsace is a very close 2nd. That helped me get over the "embargo years" where you couldn't even find the stuff. Glad they came to their senses and its available now in the States. Rare to hear anyone outside of HockeyDad and me talking about it.

Saw one that didn't make it across the road on yesterday's dog walk. Today all I saw was its backbone in a yard. Turkey vultures make quick work of any road kill around here.

What they don't eat the crows do... I don't think the red hawks want anything dead. I believe they prefer to kill it, themselves.

I knew a guy who had a gf with a bubble-wrap fetish. Cost him a lot of money when she wasn't into it anymore.

That burst his bubble.

on this group I've allowed members from the zoning board and city council to join and tried to have discussions on findings of Infractions that occurred from past to current... they've all been silent, but one or maybe a few have been reporting my posts and FB has put me on a time out twice now... you know the saying "Keep your friends close and Enemies Closer"

Morning guys. Looks like it's about time to shop for new treads for the CR-V. I have been able to get 34K miles out of the OE tires which I guess is pretty good. Looking for the next set to be 60K miles warrantee. Prolly Discount or Costco.

Quick check on line looks like prices have jumped about 30% since last time I bought any. OUCH!

Weird night of sleep. Feeling a bit sluggish this morning.
Three eggs, two sausages, hashbrowns with garlic and cheddar cheese melted on top.
Halfway through the half pot of coffee.
Behind on the morning cardio. Got to make like condensed tomato out of the day and ...... ketchup.

There is a season for tires. September and October, the tire companies lower their prices across the board to finish off the fiscal year and show positive upward trend before winter. Then prices go up in October and November when people in the northern third of the country realize winter is coming.

Image the months of extreme heat is harder on tires than the cold and slop is.

Your mileage may vary (pun intended).

Every year I can remember both Costco and Discount have had a Memorial Day special of about $150 off a set. Sometimes buy 3 and get 4. Hoping to find one upcoming.

Reminds me, prolly should think about switching the snows off my son's car for the regular "all season" ones. Bought him a set of snows for his first year of driving (on his own) in the snow. They won't stop you any faster if driving on ice or packed down snow but they make a world of difference in getting traction to keep it moving in the snow. Put the snows on in the late fall for snow season then swap them out in the spring.

Also want to do a tranny flush on it. Bought the car used last Sept-ish. The car fax report was pretty thorough with regular oil changes and stuff but no record of any tranny work. Took a look at the color of the tranny fluid and it's light tan rather than the typical reddish. Tranny work is out of my comfort zone to work on so call a local reputable garage. Looks like about $250 for a flush.

Kids are pretty expensive to own and we haven't even started the life chapter of college yet.

I've got 30k on my OE set on the truck. I imagine 4 tires for the truck are gonna cost me at least $1,000 when it's time... which it probably will be soon. Gonna do a road trip to NY to visit my sister and show the wife the Statue of Liberty.

Then ferry over to CT and drive into RI for a day or 2 to get some clam cakes, chowdah, stuffies, and check out how the home town has changed in the last 36 years. That'll probably rack up 3k more miles.
