Oh yeah, note to self: this would be that date where I show Mrs Beach all the appreciation for 16yrs of boundless patience for my bullchit. Officially. Unofficially there were another two years on top of that.

Another cold miserable day. Mid June and we still haven't put our coats away for the summer. Today's a lovely grey 50 degree day. Looking like I'm gonna just hit the couch and potate.

Credit card companies suck salty balls.

Latest trip back to WI, I put in credit cards for flights and stuff. No big deal, I'll pay the balance off next month (don't mind using credit cards then pay off the balance quickly). Maybe consumed a grand while taking care of the adults (don't tell them, they will demand to pay me back and send me a check. My take is helping family and friends does not register on the monetary scale).

Fight service on the flight that I used to leave Green Bay enroute to a lay over in Chicago was handing out these a new credit card apps. Typical credit cards where you can transfer funds from previous card to new card. 0% interest for a year and also gain 5,5000 airline mileage. OK.. no big deal.. might as well apply since I have 7 hrs to kill in Chicago.

Approved in 30 seconds and given a temporary card. Made a purchase to try it out. 9 AM in O'Hare calls for an everything bagel with chive cream cheese, and a bottle of OJ. (F'n $25 for a toasted bagel, cream cheese, and an OJ)

Going through junk mail, I got the real plastic card a week or so ago. Says dial this 800 number to activate the thing. Dialed it tonight but it's locked.

WTF? Now they want copies of my birth cert, my SSN card and my state ID. Whatever. Not gonna deal with it tonight. Maybe, if I'm bored, I'll call to customer service tomorrow

Bluefin or bust today.

We're smelling like skunks because the bluefin did what bluefin do... said F U... we're not biting sheit today. Radio chatter was that everyone got a huge fkn spoonful of the same skunky platter.

Bassturds.

Drank beer, smoked cigars and spent the day with 2 buddies I haven't seen in a year. Still calling it a win.

Good guess. It's actually Barclays partnered with American Airlines. Wasn't planning on using the card other than to get the flyer mileage and the new membership rewards stuff to use on future trips. Was planning on canceling it within a year and the rewards stuff with American Airlines carries with me after the card is canceled.

I applaud their security efforts on the card but the customer service kinda sucks. Normally would mark it up as "who cares" and just cancel it but now I've taken it as a personal challenge that I refuse to be defeated by.

Gonna be a pretty lazy Saturday. The weather forecast calls for low 60's with on and off rain most of the day. Gotta run some errands and get some packages shipped out before the post office closes. May as well stop at the hardware store for a pitch fork and a torch before my next call to customer service.

Just when I thought it was over, whamo! Covid. A couple days ago I though allergies were kicking in, then really kicking in. Banging headache, sinus pressure, and runny nose. Seemed like allergies but wasn't going away so I took one of those home tests and sure enough Covid. I wanted it to be false positive, so I took another test and same result. I called the doc and he called me in a prescription for Paxlovid. I took a dose last night and it gave me a nasty taste in the back of my mouth but the symptoms have definitely decreased. I'm not sure if it was the Paxlovid or just my body knocking it out. I had it once before and that first day or two sucked but my body fought it off without drugs by the third day. Have any of you taken Paxlovid?

Know how to never get covid? Don't test for it. And I wouldn't take the shot, so I damn sure wouldn't take any drug they devised recently.

Hope ya feel better soon, though.

I took the first shot under protest to get the card so I could fly but nothing past that. I took one dose of the Paxlovid last night because I was really feeling **** but I don't think I'm going to continue. My girl said the same thing about the test. She was like wtf we'll I'm not testing.

Thank you all for the well wishes. I think they're working.

Good Saturday Morning to All! It's 79° on the way to 92° today. Getting older son for lunch today, father's day and my wife's birthday.

COVID is a PITA get well soon PW.

Hawk spit, I hate CC companies, but my experience with a Costco CitiBank card have been good. They are very quick texting me when the card is used and I appreciate that feature. My phone will receive a text often before the cash register receipt is offered. I have had to replace the card four times, I use it online and shit it happens. Whenever I called I got competent people that took care of the problem.

No, NO, AND No

Dodged covid altogther...I was out and about every freakin single day during the entire pandemic, I had to make money, scrapping metal, trash picking, trash lotto tickets diving and dumpster diving, flea mkts, yard sales...

10 days ago I got.....

SHINGLES!!!

GODDAMMIT!!

ON MY freakin NOGGIN!!
LEFT FORHEAD
LEFT EYELID
LEFT TEMPLE
AND ENTIRE LEFT SCALP UNDER HAIR
( most peeps get on their rib cage side or belly side)

It is B.R.U.T.A.L. !!!

Headaches
Shear pain spikes like hot needles in your brain, out of nowhere, 10-20 seconds long at a 7-8 out of 10 pain level!! Multiple 10-15 times per hour...
Tired and miserable...
Laid down for 3-4 days straight..
Pain on skin , eyelid blew up 2 times size...
If it gets into your eye? Your fucked!! Cornea transplant needed..
Blisters ouzzzing puss, scab over then itch like hell...

I GOT ANTI-VIRAL DRUG ON DAY 2

VALACYLCLOVIR 1 GRAM HORSE PILLS
30
3X DAY

WORKED WONDERS!!
Prolly shortened my pain & suffering by 50+%% at least..
Gotta Start it within 72 hours of first symptoms...
I was about 30 hours into it when I started it.

My anti-viral drug was a God send.

I hope your Paxlovid works the same!!

Paxlovid works in 12-36 hours maximum. I had it too and was grateful. If you turned the corner within in 24 hours, I'd bet that's what did it.

Worder why you would you disregard your doctor's prescription order. Have you completed medical school and training? Why even bother to call or have a doctor if you won't follow instructions?
