Good Wednesday Morning to All! It's 80° on the way to 94° today. Heading back to the range today for more practice, it's hot, but our next match is the 29th and it'll be hot then too. As the old saying goes, "You gotta piss with the cock you have." Brick wall

Yesterday afternoon I had a few hours to kill so I parked my rig and saw Mission: Impossible. It was hot as chit so I looked at the weather app on my phone. Freaking 115 degrees in El Centro, CA. As far as the movie; meh. I’m thinking the M:I franchise may have jumped the shark.

no scales or fins on octopus or calamari...so I am guilty.
It certainly won't be the last time.

You lazy bass turds couldn't finish this?

I was up before 5am getting the smoker fired up. Got a 9 pound shoulder going with mesquite and cherry wood.

My best friend from HS lives in Bradenton. We haven't seen each other since 1991 and he's coming to visit for a couple days. Me, Joe, Brian (his younger brother) and Alex were the frickin' 4 amigos. For all 4 years of HS if you saw one of us, you saw the other 3.

Gen X kids... outside all day, every day, until the street lights came on. Fishing, hiking, camping, swimming, doing all kinds of dumb, dangerous sheit... riding our bikes miles away from home...

The good ol' days. Beer

Can't do that in this day and age. Parents would be cuffed for neglect.

Broken record in LA. 76 going to 94 and humidity currently 94%. No chance of rain. Rain chance increase to 20% tomorrow and 60% on Sat.

Be safe!

Got some high temp gasket material for the smoker. The door on the WSM was not sealing well and the temps were running away from me.

Sealed it up yesterday and the temp is staying pretty much 275 with the top vent wide open and the bottom vents just barely cracked.

Pork butt is forgiving, but the damn brisket dries out a bit if you let the temps get too hot.

It’ll get better as you age the smoker. But you know that. Beer

Yep... never used gasket material on any of my WSM's. This one the door just had gaps. Fixed it.

My neighbor already called... asked "What are you smoking, now?" Angel

Yeah... 99 today and 100 tomorrow. My old ass is staying inside. 67% humidity right now.

It's higher in the mornings on the dog walk, like 78 with 80+ humidity and as it gets hotter the humidity drops.

And then it rains... d'oh!

One week out from visiting the kid's new house. I was lobbying for October, but Mrs. Beach says that's an unacceptable wait. Gonna love Houston during a heatwave

I'd love me some 100 days... but it's a wet heat. I hate humidity worse than high temps.

Did the same in 1984. Never have been sorry one bit. You can either give someone else your money to look out for their interests before your own or pay yourself to do it. When my wife and I married in 1991, I fired her advisor as well. Firkin advisor had her teachers investments in oil well ventures.Cursing

Been a good couple days.

Yesterday was walking, reading while swaying in a hammock, and a fair amount of stretching. Day capped off with successful grilling of Juicy Lucy cheeseburgers.

Today, a pre 6:00 am dog walk followed by kayaking with a friend into the Bay of Green Bay.
Good fat burning exercise although my shoulders are a little grumpy with the excess activity.
