I think I work too much from my computer at home. Just Amazon-ed another office chair an another plastic thingy that you put over the carpet for the office chair to roll on. Both are about 3 yrs old so maybe its time to replace them.

Weddings... in my opinion are a total PIA and a waste of money. I've been through a handful of them. Once as the groom and few times as a member to the groomsmen. If I had to do them over again, I would recommend to just elope and enjoy a honeymoon with the money that a "real" wedding would cost. Then I'd do a small family oriented "official" ceremony (if family wants a ceremony) to appease them for picture taking and all that jazz.

My wedding cost a ton of $ and I didn't know 80% of the people that we sent invites to. It was a nice celebration but in hindsight, it was a waste of money as the celebration was more catered to eating, drinking, and entertainment for the crowd.

Agreed. We had the option of a big wedding, or the down payment for our house. We took the down payment. Had the wedding at my parents house with immediate family and a few friends. We got BBQ from Goode Company, and beer and Champagne from Spec’s. JOP married us, much to the dismay of my catholic in-laws. Beer

Wife and I married in front of a judge with 2 friends present as witnesses. Small gathering at the house afterwards with food and drink.

Neither of us could afford much more than that. d'oh!

To be 100% transparent. Wedding was on a Sat 9th, Sept of 2001. Sunday was making sure we got everything settled for our honeymoon and that friends, family and those that traveled were all set up for their return visits back home.

A couple members of the family stayed at our house for another week to house sit and dog sit while we were gone. We flew out on Monday the 10th for the honeymoon in Playa Del Carmen. When we finally arrived, we settled in for the night. Woke up Tues morning, the 11th,... kinda groggy from the travels and stuff.

We ordered breakfast to be delivered to the room and I turned on the TV to watch the news and weather forecast while to wife was in the shower. 10 minutes later while watching the breaking news, the second plane crashed into the second tower in NY.

Holy F Uck.

That is one moment in my life that I will never forget.

Just bought this one, I found the solid plastic works better than flexible plastic.

The day you get them, the clock starts ticking. My wife also holds onto our dogs well past their time. That is what is hardest for me. Seeing the look in a dog’s eyes when they’ve had enough, asking you to help- but we can’t.

Wife actually admitted that if we didn’t spend the money to amputate the leg of a past greyhound, she would have held it against me probably forever. So the leg went off, he lived another miserable week, then she decided it was time. Brick wall

I hear you and don't disagree but I have been guilty in the past. We lost a female Husky five years ago and I hand feed her for six months to keep her around. At the time it seemed like the right thing to do but not really. As pet owners it is our responsibility to take care of them during the good as well as the bad even if it means letting them go.

Also, thanks the Ram and Drafter for the well wishes.

Currently, 83 on the gulf coast and headed to 93 today. Humidity 97% and 65% chance of rain/storms.

I tested the hip yesterday by walking just under a mile and then did a 3.5 mile bike ride. First time I have been on the bike in over a year and a half. The hip is responding well and I'm kicking myself in the butt for not getting the injection sooner. No way of knowing how long it will last but currently doing real good.

Everyone have a great and safe Sun.

Final day along the Columbia river valley. We have a hike planned and then packing up to head to Portland. Should hit hades when it’s about 115.

Dog walk was 79 degrees and 86% humidity. Right now it's 84 degrees with 78% humidity.

Basically any outside activity results in profuse sweating, okay?

Mid 70s and 100% humidity for pretty much all day (raining all day). I don't predict I'll be doing much other than some cooking and clean up in the kitchen. I also predict a cat nap at some point. Prolly purge the tuperware thingies in the kitchen. Weed out those that don't have matching lids and lids that don't have matching bottoms.

If I was king for one day I'd make a decree that all food storage containers of any brand must have universal lid and bottom sizes. One cup, 3 cups, 4 cups, 8 cups and so forth sized containers will mate with any container of the same size no mater who makes them.

All 2x4's are the same dimensions no matter the lumber supplier, all 3 prong outlets are the same no matter the manufacturer, sandwich bags... pretty much the same size. Why not franking food storage container lids and bottoms?

Stupid food storage containers.

We gave our daughter a lump-sum and told her to do anything they want with it including eloping or just a small wedding on their own with or without parents and others vs. using the money to move back to Boca Raton or to use towards buying a house- or however else she wants to spend it.

She understands the hard budget limit we gave her. Attached string to the gift were simply: that she can not go into any debt for the wedding or honeymoon even though they can afford to.

Now they are down to about 80 if they only extend invitations to immediate family, aunts and uncles, first cousins plus 10 friends. List will be cut further I am sure. And, now it is only going to be a Sunday brunch without all the necessary b.s.

Last to avoid going over budget by only telling vendors (highly negotiable) she has 75% of her true line item budget, thereby reserving 25% for unexpected expenses and overages.

Bringing the family to 6 Flags up in Gurnee tomorrow.

Wife and boy were too scared to ride one of the rides at legoland last year, but they say they'll ride if we go.... I have a feeling ill be riding alone and I don't even like rollercoasters that much.

Spent 4 hours trying to fix the boys go kart today. Didn't succeed. Went to plan b, that failed as well. Go kart axles and hubs and stuff are pretty standardized and have been for decades. Not this one. Plan C started, which requires I buy things. That's not gonna work either without spending $4-500 to standardize. Starting to look on Craigslist n stuff for a cheap used frame and ill just scavenge what I can.

You'd think spending $2k on a decent new kart that you'd get more than 10 hours of use. His old one had 80 hours and I sold it fully functional.

Morning folks. Starting out 93 going to 111 or so. Up with the chickens at 4 so I can get a 5 miler in before the soles on my shoes melt. Kinda hard getting back into the routine after a vacay in the cool.
