Good Monday Morning to All! It's 83° on the way to 95° the humidity is 73%, resting today, I spent a couple of hours cleaning drains and the driveway of rocks and sand deposited by a recent thunderstorm. I also roasted coffee.

Yard work done... shirt and shorts were soaked. Honestly, I enjoy getting out there and working up a sweat. Tank likes chasing me around while I mow... he's a nutbucket.

Pretty sure I saw a line of Starlink satelites fly over the house last night. I have not seen them before, it was very odd looking. I see single satelites fly over all the time at night, but this was very differrent.

It looked just like the video in this article:

Got to drive a 2001 Jaguar Silverstone convertible. Owner said the model was one of only 250 made that year.

Also getting wrenched on this week, a high end Toyota sports car, Supra maybe. And then a car from Japan. Don’t speak Japanese. We can’t tell what the model is and unsure how to proceed.

Currently 73 in LA and going to 96 today. Humidity is 84% and no real chance of rain until Sat.

Today is going to suck.

Just another typical toasty, roasty 110+ here. About past time for our monsoon season to kick in. Starting to remember why we had a mountain house to retreat to and forget why why we sold it last fall.

It hit 112 on me yesterday as I was driving on I-17 near Phoenix. Had the front and rear AC on in my truck and was still sweating balls. Was amazing because only 40 miles prior I was getting pounded by huge hail stones.

What's up. Workers around the home today. Landscaper to clean-up palms, neighborhood to switch light bulbs and pull weeds; and cable company to determine the source of our signal noise which is impairing our wifi and streaming tv.

Wife's double bunion foot is slow healing well (three micro-plates and 6-9 screws). Next doc appointment is Monday when he will assess whether she is ready to transition from the orthopedic boot to her running shoe. Going to discuss driving too (per the doctor). Hoping she can start driving Monday.

The last 7.5 weeks have been rough having to drive her to work and back home twice daily round-trip (20 miles x 2) on local roads, during morning and evening rush hour.

But, she's been through a hell of a lot more than that and has put up with my driving like a trooper, so I tip my hat to her! Applause

Hope the wife's recovery goes as well as it can, Robert.

Got a haircut on base. Went to the commissary and picked up a 9 lb pork shoulder, some beef ribs, and some korean style beef short ribs. Wife will marinate the korean short ribs... I'm going to smoke the beef ribs and the pork shoulder. Not at the same time, though... that'd be way too much to eat.

Made my homemade dry rub and also a new container of my homemade bbq sauce. My best friend from high school lives in Bradenton and is coming over to visit for a few days on Thursday.

Thankful for the pool right now as it's 113 going up to 117 the next few days.

As my dad used to tell us kids every summer "stay hydrated and out of the sun between 11am and November".

I think almost all peeps around here keep their pets indoors now but that was never a thing when I was growing up. Our dogs were outdoor dogs and never allowed in the house unless there was a major storm or something. We only had a swamp cooler and the water drained into our backyard which had a big tree and oleanders for shade. Our dog could always be found in the wet grass under the tree or playing in the irrigation ditches with us kids.

A friend just sent me this note:

Carefull with synthetic grass. Cactus & 84th St. Sunday at 1pm I measured the temperature of various surfaces and found the following:

Natural grass - 120 degrees
Cement Driveway - 131 degrees
Gravel - 131 degrees
Blacktop roadway - 142 degrees
Synthetic Grass - 167 degrees ..............................ouch

Surprisingly great America was not at all busy. But it also wasn't fully operational. 4 rides I wanted to do were closed. Longest line for a coaster was maybe 20 minutes.

The boy did pretty good. First one we rode we were first in line so he didn't know what we were in for. There were tears, but eventually he came around. Refused to open his eyes on most of them but by the end he said "well, that was kinda fun" but followed up with "I'm never doing that again".

Didn't do much today, went to my parents house to swim for a few hours and ...that's it.

Back to work tomorrow. Other than the 2 days I went in last week I've been off for 3 weeks. I thought I'd be bored with that much time off and not much planned to do. I dont think there were any layabout days.

Carnival rides are totally not in my book of things to do. It's weird. I have a unexplainable fear of heights for no reason. Call it an in irrational fear or phobia. Both definitions would apply. I can do some rides but others I see I would totally turn into a fainting goat.

Octopus is good!

I love me some roller coasters. The loopier and twistier, the better! The wife's first foray into roller coasters was Viper at 6 flags magic mountain... 6 loops and a twist. She has never been on another.

In hindsight, that was probably not the best choice to introduce her to roller coasting. Anxious

I was in my 20's and thought it was funny.Gonz

She did not...Frying pan

Going to be another freakin hot one today. Currently 76 going to 94 today and humidity is at a 90%

A mile dog walk on tap in a few minutes followed by a couple of hours of yard work before it gets too hot.
