You really want to go there? Are you sure? Just remember, you brought this topic up.
Several years ago I discovered a very nice early morning smoke. LPH Morado. Premium smoke with a premium price, that once in a blue moon, I could steel from another auction for $2 - $3 a stick. Sadly, it used a rare wrapper leaf that was in limited supply and production ceased. I bought at closeout from another vendor, what I thought to be the last 2 boxes in existence.
Fast forward 1 year, and to my shock, this cigar shows up here. At first I was as excited as could be, but something wasn’t right. Instead of a premium, this cigar was value priced. The divided tray box was missing, as was the cedar wrap. I also noticed that the size listed didn’t seem to match what I had in stock. I was also concerned that since the wrapper leaf was in limited supply, how did all these boxes all of a sudden appear?
I voiced these concerns to the powers that be, and was assured that this was indeed my beloved Morado. The packaging had been streamlined to bring down the price. Back then I was naive and trusting, thus bought into that line of horse crap. Stupid me. Instead of my beloved Morado, I ended up with horrid dog rockets with faux Morado bands. At least I learned who I can and can not trust.
Oh, and so you don’t think I’m just picking on you:
GOF Carlito and MF 2011 Limited. Two of the most overpriced “meh” cigars ever made.
