So we'll ignore the original post and twist it to suit your discussion points.

I never said anyone rejected anyone.

Here's the point in a nutshell:
The supposed haters gave Jenner less flack then the supposed embracers did.

Didn't mean to upset yours and Victors ghey-meter, but this isn't about lifestyle.

Well, if you want to characterize a whole group of people, liberals, conservatives, I hardly think isolated incident characterizes anyone. I mean it is hardly condemns liberals as a group - bad apples not withstanding.

But I reckon the crux of the biscuit is that you believe that liberals are hypocritical and probably disingenuous people. As a group. On average. Typically. So, is your point that some liberals are bad, or a that liberals are bad?

Wow.

I didn't say, nor imply, that any one group was bad.
You tell me not to generalize, but then you post this?

And on a close read, you will find that I was asking you if you really thought Liberals were bad as a group.

So I can assume that feel that liberals are as good and fine as conservatives. An if you see and incident of them acting poorly, that is just an isolated incident.

I mean some of your best friends are liberal, right?

You've lost your train of thought, Brew.
Or perhaps the ability to convey said train.
Either way I'm onto next (city) subject.

Just stay off the "feltching branch"...

I don't know if that is a thing and I am not googling it to find out as I had a really delicious breakfast.

Tell me when you're finished on this tangent so we can discuss what were earlier in the thread.

This isn't a tangent. Your theme of this post is that Jenner isn't getting crap from Republicans for being trans, but is getting crap from LGBT people for being republican.

I simply pointed out that no group, no matter how accepting the say they will be about some things, is ever accepting of all "ideas" nor should they be. It's childish to use the excuse "they are supposed to be all accepting, so they should accept this idea"... Not all ideas are good. Some are just dumb (like the idea of being accepting of all ideas, or the idea that you can get HepC from your shoes)... some are truly harmful (like the idea that one racial group is inferior to another, or that trump will make a good president). To feign shock that a group which does not say anywhere that it accepting of all ideas, would not be accepting of an idea... is disingenuous.

But you knew that going into this thread. You just wanted to argue.

You know... just to give you a heads up... if you really want to call "strawman" on an argument, you should look at post 1 of this thread.

Since you've been itching to get it right one of these times.

Edit - Given the topic of this thread, I believe a tiara is more appropriate, thank you.

The highlighted passage is incorrect.
Saying that the LGBT community is "all about acceptance" does not mean they accept "everything". You're seeking specificity that would make discussions boring and tedious.
And if I did mean that LGBT is ALL accepting, then I guess you thought I meant that conservative republicans don't accept anyone?

LGBT's are more likely than conservative republicans to accept outsiders.
That's a general statement. I don't mean 100% of them. I don't mean they accept EVERYTHING. You and Brewha are both stubborn and transparent on this one.
You think I was disparaging your LGBT friends.
I'm not.
I found the irony funny. And you two got splashed in the cross-streams and are angry and unreasonable in your approach to a lighthearted post.
Stop being so easily offended.

I'm neither unreasonable nor angry.
You said in your first post that we hear liberals or LGBT or whoever is "more inclusive"... Then you decided to poke fun at that idea by pointing out they are not being inclusive of one being Republican.

I'm merely pointing out that your initial argument, that liberals or LGBT are supposed to be more inclusive, is too much a blanket statement to really be accurate. Without that fundamental argument in place (teddyballs strawman he's so badly wanted) the rest of the argument falls to the wayside. I don't think I had given your post much thought... Inaccurate but not really I'll intentioned... I only got involved when you wanted to dig in on the idea that libs accept anyone.

Rubbish.
I make a general statement and you try to twist it to be an absolute.
When I call you out, you retreat and say simply that it's not accurate? As if "blanket statements" are inaccurate by their very nature?
Tell me which part is not accurate.
I think the general stereotype of the LGBT community is one of much greater acceptance than that of the conservative republicans. Doesn't mean it's true for every issue every time, but the label exists. If you think it's inaccurate fine.
I don't think you do. You're just crying because somebody mentioned LGBT in a negative light (albeit only slightly so).

Tail.. Stop backtracking. Look back in the conversation. I didn't bother coming in to this until you were seriously doubling down on your whole "libs have to accept everyone or their hypocrites schtick".

You use phrases like " criticism is verboten", "preaches acceptance above all else", " intense hypocrisy "...
Your theme may have started as a bit of irony, but somewhere along the line you lost sight of that and decided you had to defend a position that liberals MUST be accepting of every stupid idea any person has. That's when I started disagreeing with you, mainly because that was a concept I had thought about (granted I thought about it in 8th grade... But some people are slower than others)... (I kid... I kid, I like you even if you're slow). (Nah.. I'm still kidding... You're momma's special little boy)...

You're correct, but it seems you don't understand the progression that discourse takes.
It's also why I purposely went back to the beginning, but even after I restated my intent you felt obligated to lash out. Because of the subject matter.
Like you're the LGBT knight in shining armor.

Curses!
Foiled again.

I feel it is only fair to point something out, as my irony detector seems to be working again.

Victor, as a noted liberal, is lambasting your for your social and political views....and in a surrealistic way bolstering your original point - not that I am entirely sure what that point was....

It is like that Monty Python skit, when the guy comes in and pays for an argument, but ends up in a room where the guy is just giving him contradiction.
