His body was giving out and I was trying to do all I could to keep him going. Carrying him up and down the stairs and stuff. Then a friend stopped over and talked to me… “Look at him, he wants to go… you are only keeping him here for you… just let him go…” It was very tough time and it still brings tears to my eyes thinking about it.
Today is our turn........my sweet little girl,Stinky, has been fading for awhile. She has been having a hard time going up and down stairs and getting in and out of her chair,so I've been helping. Like Bucky says, I've been being selfish and my poor girl is getting tired. It's just my wife and I here ,so Stinky gets all of our attention......I work nights,so my wife is here with Stinky all night and gives her someone to talk to when I'm gone, and when I get home my wife is in bed, so I usually get my shoes off and sit chat with Stinky a bit before I go in and see my wife. We both love this little dog completely.....she has become much more than a "dog" to us........much like the family member I mentioned to Ewok the other day. I've known this day was coming for a little while, and I've selfishly postponed it for my own needs, but it can't be put off any longer..............I just made the call and we have a 5:30pm appt. Very sad day here, lots of tears, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. All the memories and good times we've had will live in my mind forever!
Thank You for all you have given us Stinky and We will always love and cherish you!
Thanks for listening guys
