Trump and some of the cons who don't recognize free speech rights among minorities turned the protests by some, mostly black NFL players, into a referendum on patriotism. That is much easier to do than to engage in an actual exchange of ideas about assessing the crux of the protests: disparate treatment of blacks and minorities by some law enforcement agencies. Because this issue has racial implications, Trump and the Trumpians deny that there is a problem..
I get it. TDS.
If your tv is broken are you going to go to Taco Bell to tell people about it?
We're talking about paid professional athletes paid to play a game. They're not the brightest bulbs in the chandelier. They're conditioned to play a game not deliver a socially conscious message. People wonder why patriotism seeps into the conversation...its because they choose to show their backsides while it's playing. Not thinking for one moment why Americans are pissed about what and why.
This was going on before Trump was elected. He's been more vocal about how wrong it is though.
Like I've said before...a new league is firing up this next season waiting to exploit any failings the deaf and dumb NFL chooses to trip on. They're already in FAIL territory with not showing up as champions enmasse.
