Thermometer in my truck was reading -6 on the drive home. Don't think the cab ever really got up to temp, but sure am thankful I have heat in this one.
I came to work prepared with plenty cold weather clothing. I was fine walking out this morning except the air hurt my face and breathing was a little painful. But I stayed unfrozen. Mustache was iced over after taking out the trash, loading the recycling in my truck and feeding the chickens.
I hate it.
Last gas/electric bill was almost $300. Next one's gonna hurt even more.
Days like this, and the 110° days we had last July make me appreciate my indoor job. Saw a dude up in a cherry picker replacing light bulbs at White Castle. I remember doing stuff like that and it wasn't a bid deal, just part of the day. Then when you start warming up and can feel the cold still coming from your bones while your skin is warmed and the pain sets in... Don't miss it that much.
