Van Morrison - A Sense of Wonder

I don’t recall listening too much to this in the ‘80s but years later, an older, mellower me finds this as a fine, sit-back-and-chill album. Definitely worthy of revisiting again.

Van Morrison - Poetic Champions Compose

“Someone Like You” is the “hit” of this recording but overall, this is an excellent album and other than “Avalon Sunset”, one of Van’s best from the late ‘80s.

Van Morrison - Avalon Sunset

Van’s last album of the’80s is quite possibly the best of that decade. For me, the highlights include:

Whenever God Shines His Light
Have I Told You Lately (...Rod Stewart later covered this song...)
When Will I Ever Learn to Live in God
Orangefield
Daring Night
These Are the Days

Yeah, more than a few spiritually themed songs but they work for me.

77F / 68% RH / 13 mph - overcast and a bit breezy most of the day

Only heard of a couple songs, went to YouTube and really liked one song enough to start playing it.

Went to band camp website and bought the discography for 18.00 and change.

This album knocks all the Christmas tunes away.Herfing

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You’ve just crossed over into… the Deepspacepilots Zone.

The Black Crowes Discography (I'm a HUGE fan.)

and

Stone Temple Pilots - Core and Purple

also been watching a TON of Prince video's studying his guitar fretboard work. His fingers move like liquid fire up and down strings. He plays so effortlessly and never seems to hit a sour note. My fingers are killing me. I've been practicing all kinds of chromatic chord progressions to try and gain some of that fluidity of movement I'm doing this on an Alvarez 5220, Dreadnaught body, was one of my starting guitars, nothing special. I raised the bridge and restrung with some D’Addario Nickle Bronze uncoated 13's to make it that much harder to hit clean notes.

Great flick. I talked my mother into taking me to that one when I was 15. She had no idea what it was about, just pinball. LOL. I'm not sure she ever knew.
