-I am never sure if he's too clever for his own good, or just not too bright....or both...he managed to say 'go back to the chitholes you came from' without saying it

-The dems were imploding nicely late last week. Why fk with that?

-i found it amusing the way he tried to bury his tweets under a mountain of tweets and retweets this morning...like, 'maybe nobody will notice '

we agree so often, yet vote differently.
I like that. Gives me hope.

He’s banking on folks not being intellectually honest and counting on folks putting party and winning above country and decency. And he’s likely right. It also helps he picked some highly unlikeable targets.

That and he’s a bigot. I don’t call everyone a bigot or everything bigoted. Just mostly him and this is but one example. You can try to explain any one of his examples if you compartmentalize but on the whole? Not so much.

Beware of any one from any party claiming the other side or person hates the country. It’s a tool and you are being used.

Interesting analysis on nbc.com:
It suggests that Trump was quite calculating with his tweets, afraid that the dems might distance themselves from the more radical left, and actually wanted the dems to get behind "the Squad" and continue their leftward march. Not certain I'm willing to give him that much credit, but it is an interesting idea.
"After Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., accused Pelosi of being "disrespectful" to young women lawmakers of color, Democrats on Capitol Hill rallied to Pelosi's corner and distanced themselves from the four congresswomen who have become the latest avatars of liberal politics in Republican attacks.

That was the opposite of the political dynamic he needs as he faces re-election — he wants the Democratic Party stuck to its progressive fringe so that he can portray his opponents as too extreme to lead the country — and he moved quickly to flip the script"

It must be nice to be able to say or do racist things in the open. Now that’s making America great again!

I’ve not often called something or someone racist. I’m very careful with it. But I will when I see it.

But now the response is just because I disagree with colored folk doesn’t make me racist.

It’s a blanket get out of bigotry free card. We are better than this.

I’m goi g more with demagogue here though because the racism is calculated. He may not actually think that way but is simply leveraging the racism that exists in a pocket of his base.

I don't think you're wrong.

But look at it this way...

If he changes... then he won't be re-elected. The people who supported him will support whoever else is willing to be racist and xenophobic enough for them. Like I said... symptom, not the problem itself.

And he may be 2... 2....2 in one! We already know he has zero problem molesting people (self admitted, bragged about even). The question is whether (in his words) he likes them "a little on the young side".

Eh.... I'm willing to give that one. There's public videos of biden being creepy.
Not really "molesting little girls"... but enough touching that I wouldn't be comfortable standing next to it.

When it came to light and got some publicity.... he went and did it again.

Of course.... the standards have changed. I mean.... no one talks about the 18? (or is it in the 20s?) legitimate accusations of rape/assault against trump.... just the video of biden being creepy.

I don't think there's another Republican candidate willing to walk the fine line of racism... Part of trumps appeal is that he always leaves himself open for a narrow defense... So people who aren't necessarily racist can still justify trump over the other guy because there's always that slim chance he's not racist.... He might just be a moron... Or a genius... Or a 50/50 split...

Personally, I'm undecided on just what I think he is... I want to believe he hates Mexicans but then every time they're about to quietly ship a bunch of them out of the country he warns all of them that it's about to happen!

Why did you ignore the part when he told the women to "come back" after they fixed things?
I would think that a racist would never want a person of color to come back.
Or did you simply not think that far ahead?

They ARE FROM HERE (or 3 of the 4). THEY ARE AMERICANS. It doesn't matter that he threw a "come back after you've fixed the 'crime infested places from which you came'"" in there at the end. He doesn't imagine the places that he thinks they are from will ever be fixed.

It's ironic that despite you claiming everyone other than you reads the MSM, the dumb argument you gave is straight from today's republican talking points. Straight from fox news.... and just as stupid as you'd expect.

Let's look at short-bus mc-cheeto's triple down on his racism....

"The Democrat Congresswomen have been spewing some of the most vile, hateful, and disgusting things ever said by a politician in the House or Senate, & yet they get a free pass and a big embrace from the Democrat Party. Horrible anti-Israel, anti-USA, pro-terrorist & public.....
.....shouting of the F...word, among many other terrible things, and the petrified Dems run for the hills. Why isn’t the House voting to rebuke the filthy and hate laced things they have said? Because they are the Radical Left, and the Democrats are afraid to take them on. Sad!"

Mr "grab em by the p#ssy" has a sad because of those mean brown women's locker room talk.

He literally thinks THEY are spewing "the most vile, hateful and disgusting things".... mr "blood coming out of her wherever"....

"We will never be a Socialist or Communist Country. IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY HERE, YOU CAN LEAVE! It is your choice, and your choice alone. This is about love for America. Certain people HATE our Country....
....They are anti-Israel, pro Al-Qaeda, and comment on the 9/11 attack, “some people did something.” Radical Left Democrats want Open Borders, which means drugs, crime, human trafficking, and much more....
....Detention facilities are not Concentration Camps! America has never been stronger than it is now – rebuilt Military, highest Stock Market EVER, lowest unemployment and more people working than ever before. Keep America Great!"
The guy who spent 8 years complaining about obama... now wants people who are unhappy with him to leave.
He paints them as "pro-Al-Qaeda" (we know he got that spell checked, since his personal notes on the last speech had that spelled "alcaida" or something like that....

#86...It doesn’t matter if he wants them to come back to the U.S. Racism has to do with prejudice and discrimination. He would never tell a white politician their opinion shouldn’t be valid until they go back to where they came from and do whatever...therein lies the discrimination based on race.

Best case scenario, Trump dabbles in racism for political gain. It’s disgusting when it happens on the left. It's disgusting now.

You're not wrong.

The point is he thinks some people, who are born in america, have some responsibility to "go back to their countries of origin" which in his mind" governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all)" before they're allowed to have any input on governing in the US?

Can you imagine how incredulous someone would be if that was used as an argument against a white person?

I mean... we know tail is from italy. We know that's a country with a corrupt socialist government. By trump's logic, tail should go back to his country of origin and fix it before spouting off any nonsense here.

Here's what I think trump was trying to say...

Women like omar - who abide by a sexist and intolerant religious ideology - should have no say in our government... If they enjoy the ideals of Islam so much, they should go to a country where those ideals already run the government, not try to transform our government...

And women like aoc - who abide by socialist ideals - should go to a country where socialism is already the installed government, not try and transform our government...

I think that's what his original draft looked like... Then he pulled out his almanac of racist terms, picked a few and tweaked them just enough to be defensible...

Reeeeallllly stretching those yoga poses opel.

I have no problem with criticizing omar for her religion. And I will agree that anyone who abides by a sexist and intolerant religious ideology should have no say in our government. As long as we apply that equally. Christianity is just as out as Islam. I would be 100% fine with that.

But notice he didn't go after other "socialist" politicians (sanders???) and say "go back to your country of origin"....

This isn't hard opel... and I know you're just doing this for funsies.... but this is not a dog whistle. This is a straight up racist statement, with zero regret. He saw brown people, and his first thought was "they should go back to where they're from. I'm sure its a terrible crime ridden country".
