That is awful. Know a guy in his mid seventies how has had prostate cancer for several years. He has a slow growing version. Doc told him he'll die of something else first.

Reassuring? Don't know.

Had and dealt with years ago. Go for Chemo shots every 6 months and follow up visits . Since treatment everything is going well.

Obviously happy you are still around. The friend of mine had an experimental thing done on him. He said he had his prostate "fried". Left that conversation right there.

The Earth was here before the moon.
Prior to the moon, a day was approximately 6 hours long.
Once the moon appeared, it slowed the spin to 24 hours a day.

Not recently acquired random worthless info but just something to add to the thread.

One of the longest location names resides in southern MA near the RI border. For simplicity it's known as Webster Lake (in Webster MA)

The historical name of the lake is Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg.

Rough English translation is ‘English knifemen and Nipmuck Indians at the boundary or neutral fishing place’.

Local modern translation evolved into "You fish on your side, I'll fish on my side, and no one shall fish in the middle"

no one in these parts needs to master more than the first 4 syllables for everyone else to know what he means.

Jesse Owens, originally known as J.C., was the youngest of ten children (three girls and seven boys), When his new teacher asked his name to enter in her roll book, he said "J.C.", but because of his strong Southern accent, she thought he said "Jesse". The name stuck, and he was known as Jesse Owens for the rest of his life.

Thought of you and OSU when I learned the track coach gave him a No Call No Show job, paying him $60 per month. Yep. Sounds like Ohio State Shame on you

Another oddity. Hitler actually met with Owens away from nearly everyone and congratulated him on his performance.
FDR never called him or sent a telegram. J.C. in 1936 campaigned for Alf Landon and considered himself a Republican.
