Mornin' dudes. Spent the night in Breaux Bridge LA. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, so I am feeling wicked smaaaht right now, although tired. King sized bed and the dog has to be all up on my side... and wake me up 2 hours into the snooze to pee... bassturd.

Couldn't really get back to sleep. Dog walk, shower and free breakfast on the menu... then it's off to Texas.

Mystery cigar and cup of Bones Smorey Coffee, waiting for 3 going to the doctor for X-rays this afternoon. Had an accident yesterday morning, cruising down the interstate in the left lane, car in the right lane rear ended another semi, came spinning in my lane (left lane) so I went right and he bounced off the jersey barrier on the bridge right back in front of me. T-boned him in the passenger side, get out see if he’s okay, on the phone with 911 he jumped the Gaurd rail and ran, trooper found schedule 6 in the car. Pretty sore I guess from bracing myself and my truck is pretty boogered up again sigh.

For health reasons, migrants should be flown from NYC & Philadelphia to south of the Darién Gap, where the air is cleaner.

Fighting off a concussion that I sustained last Sat afternoon. Was riding my bike downtown hugging the shoulder next to parked cars. One car opened up the drivers side door and I smashed into it and was flung off my bike. I was out cold for about 30-45 min. Got the police report back yesterday. The ambulance transferred my limp body to the local hospital to get checked out. Then they put me on another ambulance to transfer me to a Worcester hospital. I didn't wake up until I was riding on this ambulance.

Spent three days at a Worcester hospital getting CAT scans and stuff done. Slight break in my left elbow and bleeding from the brain (I wasn't wearing a helmet). Spent 3 days there until they could confirm that the brain bleeding was all done. I was finally able to get released Monday night after pleading with them. Went to work on Tues for half a day while my head was still swimming and balance was off. I was urged (If not demanded) to take Wed off. Went back into work today and made it through most of the day (again urged to go home). Elbow seems to be mended, head pressure, dizziness, and lack of balance is still there but I try not to let it show. Running at about 70% capacity. Will go back to work again tomorrow to give it another try.

Work is very understanding and I can work at my own pace and level but they encourage me to stay home until I'm 100%. I'd rather do some work then be bed ridden. I've signed up for public transportation where a mini van picks me up at home at a specific time and drops me off at work. Same thing going from work to home. I'll be going into work in the morning via the same van so we will see what tomorrow brings.

This brain injury is probably the most franked up I've ever been. Feels like my head is detached from my body and floating in space with a headache 24 hrs a day. Kinda sucks. Mental note to anyone that rides a bike: you should probably buy a helmet before going biking.

Geeze, Buckminster. That is horrible. Have had 3 confirmed concussions and one other situation where I didn't go to the hospital but slept for 16 straight hours.

You shouldn't be working at all. Dimly lit room would also help the brain mend. When a concussed brain is working, it isn't mending. Not a doctor, but played one with a blow up doll in my grandfathers basement in 1973.

If you keep going on your current path, you'll end up like me. So there is an upside.

Bucky I had a similar injury in 04 - subdural hematoma and a nondisplaced skull fracture. Took several months before I felt right again. Still have some speech difficulties, pretty sure that's permanent. Take it easy.
