I have a Cohiba EL Torp. lined up for the ride home from a presentation I have to give, so I'll tell you if it is worth that much $ (excluding the celebration aspect which is priceless)

s'okay, my brother. when i write the great american novel and get my outrageously obscene royalties kicking in, i'll buy you a dozen or so. heh.

man... speaking of, in the forseeable (but still sadly a bit far off) future i should be receiving a check for what i calculate will be around $10-12k after lawyer fees. when that day comes, if i'm not deceased by then *chuckle* i plan on bombing the living hell out of a whoooooooole big lot of you guys. *evils*

$32 isn't so bad. Imagine going to the Cool River Cafe and spending $315 for an Indian Tabac DC. I keep wondering if that is a misprint or what... Now that would have to be some memory!

- better deal than buying a $300 bottle of 26 yr old single malt Scotch and having your alcoholic brother-in-law drink it while you're sleeping .... b*stard in my opinion ... (this happened to me)

... we all "indulge" per say on what "we" personally like ... some people spend $$ on lawn care products, others for "toys for the boys" (motorcycles, quads, etc) ... IMHO - Slim deserves to indulge in a treat for himself after such a long dry spell .... c'mon guys ... we're the same creatures that will drop $200 on dinner, drinks, and a movie with some chick we just met (not even certain if we're going to get laid or not) and not think twice about it ... now a $32 cigar ... well ... you'll save $168 and worst case scenario on a Friday night ... well ... let's just say - I hope your hand doesn't fall asleep on you ....LOL

I am one who can....but I wouldnt.

It would not be a problem for me to drop $32 on a 'gar.

I guess I dont.....dare I say it....care as much about cigars as some people who pay these prices do.

Hey- there's absolutely nothing wrong with ego trips..

But nobody can convince me the smoke itself was worth

that.. your paying for the band and the fact you have/had it. Some people are impressed some not. All

is good..

That's pretty funny ... I never even thought about the 'ego' side of it. I'm really not one much who goes off on 'ego trips'. That thought just never crossed my mind when I saw them sitting on the shelf ...

For me, it was just being able to smoke a cigar I had never tried before ... and I had an opportunity that I didn't want to miss.

Unfortunately, that's the going price for the Cohiba EL torps, even in Cuba ... and even though it was an expensive cigar, it's one that I wanted to try ... I guess just to have that one under my belt.

Honestly ... it was a fantastic cigar, but one that I would not be able to keep in my regular rotation, that's for sure.

That's pretty silly.

I make a very comfortable living & simply won't, but to each his own...

Well, I must admit that I have gone the route of the expensive stick. My local shop had one of the Partagas 150 humidors a few years back. You had to buy 2 Ramon y Ramon sticks to get one Partagas 150. Well, the 150 was $35 by itself.

The only reason I did this is because I knew I would not have the opportunity to get another one of those for a LONG time if EVER. Besides, I have made up my mind that it is the cigar I am going to smoke when my daughter graduates highschool. She is 4 years old right now. I can't wait.

As I recall the Cohiba EL Piramides sold for about $350 per box in Cuba when they were released. You can still find them in Europe for about $500 per box.
