Slim posted a pic of him smoking a 'gar that he bought for $32 dollars.

I want to know if any of you believe that any single cigar is really worth $32.

Think about it,$32 freakin dollars

right now, that's more money than i get in a month. so no! lol

however, back in the day when i had a decent paycheck, i would at least consider it. unfortunately, back then i didn't smoke cigars (or i'd have a heck of a collection out of it -- had a goodly amount of "discretionary income" left over from living simply). back then, if i was into cigars the way i am now, sure. if it was something i really wanted to try it, sure.

I'd pay 32 dollars for a Padron Millenium or Siglo 6, if I was really in the mood for those. Hell, I'd pay 40 dollars for a Torano, if I was dyin for a smoke.

I'd rather see my money go to a hobby of mine, than a frivolous trip to IKEA or Target with my GF.

Im not talkin about jonzin for a 'gar.

Im just saying if you walk into your local shop and the guy tells you he has some ,pick a cigar, and it's 32 dollars. Would open the wallet to buy it?

Sure, on a one off basis. I would pay 32 on vacation to buy a 20 dollar stick at a resort.

Well ... let's look at it this way ...

I had been out of work for over 10 months and getting to the end of my rope when I was finally hired by a great company, into a better job than I have ever had before ... and the very next day my wife and I were on a vacation to the Rivera Maya in Playa Del Carmen ...

... the day before, I went to the Havana 'Cigar and Jazz' Club on the Isle of Cozumel (La Casa Del Habano) and picked up a Cohiba EL Torpedo (the hard to find Cuban Maduro), and was on the blacony of our suite at the Sunset Fisherman's Village 'all-inclusive' Beach Resort.

It was a time for celebration ... and to once again start to enjoy the 'finer' things in life again. What better way to kick of a new beginning, and I knew that cigar was the 'real deal' ... and one I would have a hard time finding again.

Was the moment worth a measly $32?

... you bet it was!

In a year, Slim will remember that one stick more than the box of Tributes I just knocked up.

Yeah, I would. Bought a couple $45 ISOM stick in B.C. last year at the most expensive shop I'd ever seen. I know it was a jacked up price. Thing is they were about the cheepest in the shop. But I wanted them so... while on vacation...

Yep......paid exactly that for a Cuban Partagas while on a cruise and stopped at Grand Cayman's. Can't remember the nomenclature......it was pyramid/torp shaped...about 6.5 with probably 52 ring guage.......Serie something, Grand Reserva (I think).....had a narrow band below the regular band (dang, can't believe I didn't write it down).

At any rate, it was THE best cigar I've ever smoked, bar none (to date). Being on vacation helped. Was in Alfred's Bar on Carnival's Conquest (only place inside the ship you could smoke cigars). Smoked it all the way down to the nub and sadly watched it go out in the ashtray..........

Not exactly what I would consider my everyday 'gar, but a great experience.

Especially if there is a story behind the purchase and the smoking experience. Sounds like a great time, Slim.

The highest I would pay for a cigar is $31.98 and not a penny more. JonR

LOL, I agree with you smelly. My wife had way too many shoes so I dont feel that bad when I buy my cigars. I just bought 2 CAO millenium couple weeks ago for 37.50 a piece and just bought an OPUSX A today for $50 so I will be eating ramen noodles for lunch for the rest of the month.

Yes. I have paid much more for some primo well aged smokes. I have a couple of Partagas 150s that I would not sell for so little as $32.

The only cigar I've paid for that kind of money is the Zino Plat. Crown...

Man, I once paid $50 for a bag of Doritos in '91. I thought is was the last days of my life and had thousands to blow. If someone offered a Cohiba maddie at the time, I would've shelled out for it. It's all relative to how much you want it.

Think of it this way, someone you help out for three hours hands you a Cohiba Piramide EL. You're happy right? What is that three hours worth?
