I second what they all said. I hope your wife enjoys a very smooth recovery.

VSG - try a fat one the short stubby sucker or the torp - more flavor. They also really mellow with age and lose their oomph IMO. The Criollo is a very good smoke the torp being my favorite.

Great news! You know that with time your wife's hip will be better than new and she'll be able to kick your butt with a new sense of enthusiasm. lol

Thanx everyone for the kind words. And got some good news today from the wife. She wasnt dew to get out of the hospital untill Friday or Satuday at the latest. She went outside to have a smoke and the doctor seen her as he was coming in. He ask her if she made it all that way down by herself. When she said yes he said he'd seen all that he needed to and told her that he'd check her out so that she could go home. So im on my way there in the morning to pick her up. Just wondering if it's wrong that in the back of my mind im thinking ,( Yes!!! One less day i have to pay for a hospital room)???? Heehee:)

Seriously guys,it's nice to come to a place where ive never actually met any of you,and yet be treated like a neighbor.

Wow! That sounds kinda sappy. So screw you guys! 🙂

Just an update.........

Just got back from the doctor's office in OKC. It looks like i will be a free man in 2 or 3 weeks.

Mrs. Mydsooner is doing great from what the doctor said.
He's impressed by her recovery and it looks like she will be free to go back to work and drive again in 14 to 20 days. Funny thing is,is if she would have had the left hip done she would have been able to drive already.

I owe my 6 year old daughter bigtime for her efforts in all of this. She might only be 6 but she's been right there when my wife or i have needed her. I dont know how a father could love a daughter anymore then i love mine. Now my 2 year old son is another story. He has lived up to the "terrible two's".

Awesome news Jeff! It is amazing isn't it how responible and helpful little ones can be when mommy is down! They really step up!

Glad to hear it's going well!

Glad to hear it is going so well...
The young girls do seem to be ready to jump in when it comes to this. My daughter was 2 when my son was born. See always got mad if you didn't let her help.

Will your wife have any restrictions? My sister-in-law has not been allowed to skate/ski since her operation. (My wifes twin, she is looking at the same surgery sometime in the future, genetics or something.)

Tpotiger,
She was told that she would not beable to partake in any high impact sports. From what i understand you are more likely to dislocate the new hip. She's alittle down about that whole idea because she loves to play softball, basketball, and ski. We think she'll still beable to play softball, but we have some questions as to exactly what she can and cant do.

Take it easy on her then...
SIL was told she she couldn't do anything that would potentially cause a "high impact" injury to her hip. Great advice, but what does it mean? She plans on trying more as time goes by.
