Talk about bullsh!t, you outrank the title of the thread. I've never lived in an apartment and own a 4 bedroom house on a corner lot.

I correctly point out that Social Security and Medicare are socialist programs and you respond with all this hostility. You are a strange person.

Not really. Good education, good connections and she's smart. My father, now that guy had a great work ethic, as did my father in law. The kids, not so much. We're spoiled and lazy and extremely fortunate.

Edit:

And social security and medicare are STILL socialist programs.

Those programs aren't necessarily "socialist" because means of production are not involved. They are definitely income redistribution programs.

You are defining Authoritarian Socialism which is one step away from Communism. What Social Security and Medicare fall under, and what this country should be moving toward, is Democratic Socialism like many countries in Europe with only our slant of course. Every country has their own particular needs.

Funny thing is Europe is moving away more and more from democratic socialism through the liquidation of government-owned business (means of production).

Democratic socialism is easy to achieve plus we can balance the budget and pay down the national debt slowly. All we need to do is implement a 15% VAT tax on all consumption and raise all income tax brackets by 5% at the lower end and 15% at the upper end.

I would caution that you need to be careful what you wish for... Europe is a very different place than the USA.
