Sheesh, dude, don't you ever watch the news? Blacks can't be racists. You can have black colleges, black college funds, black business groups, black clubs, etc., etc., that exclude anyone who isn't black, yet they are not discriminatory, nor are they racist.

Blacks aren't the only ethnic group that has colleges, college funds, business groups, clubs, etc., that exclude others. Lots and lots of different groups do it, often for good reason. Homogeneity is not necessarily always a bad thing. Unless it violates certain types of legally protected matters such as housing, jobs ,etc., there is nothing wrong in my opinion. In fact, I think it is totally acceptable in many, many circumstances. Now, if a governmental agency does it, then it violates the 14th Amendment- Equal Protection Clause.

What is racist or wrong in targeting a voting block? Is speaking in front of Bob Jones University dividing America? Encouraging Christians to vote for you by taking out ads on Christian radio, black radio shows, Nascar cars, Spanish speaking ads are racist or divide us on religious grounds? What about saying Obama and liberals are anti-religious, evil murderers and traitors or taking out ads proclaiming your anti-abortion stance calling Democratic candidates murderers? All ok and within bounds, but a black president targeting black citizens is wrong?

You are getting upset and worried over something every one trying to sell something does every damn day, including politicians with whom you agree and your refusal to see it is bizzare actually.

He doesn't need to target the black vote. He'll get 80-90% no matter what, they identify with the equal opportunity Kenyan King. And they ain't gonna let anyone but them bad mouth him.

Plus the foodstamp crowd has been locked down.

The Hispanics will sell out en mass when they have the most leverage.

The racist crackers will feel guilty again.

Good posts.
But they honestly miss the point, because we've been taught that it's different when "black" is the category.
When someone uses skin color alone to define a person or a group, then it is racist. This is not an opinion, but rather the pure definition.
Obama's request was not centered on a cultural or idealogical conformity, but simply by skin color.
This difference can not be ignored, because it is not insignificant.

When a white person is racist, we universally agree that the person is an idiot.
What, then, should we consider the black person who espouses racism?
